It was so silent that the students could actually hear two teachers arguing on the second floor, it would be funny if the entire room wasn't mulling over what Jessica had just declared. Though, that didn't last long.
Moments later, then Terrence and his friends burst into hysterical laughter, causing everybody to look at them like they were crazy and for Jessica to look like a pissed puppy. A good few minutes later, they calmed down.
Terrence wiped a tear from his eye with a finger before smiling widely, "Was that really what you had to say?" He turned to look at Nathan, patting his back. "Sorry, bud, wouldn't date you if we were the last two people on Mars."
Nathan tilted his head, "Why Mars? Why not Pluto?"
Jackson laughed, "Jessica that has got to be the funniest thing you've done since you've had your little grudge against Ren here." Terrence flicked him in the head.
Nadia smirked, twirling a strand of hair around her middle finger. "I'm pretty sure everybody knows that Terrence is bisexual, well, other than you, that is. Though that gives y'all one thing in common, right?" Her smirk widened. "Seeing as you'll get with anything that walks."
This caused the cafeteria to laugh, and Jessica to get mad. She huffed, stomping her sparkly black heel on the table, which then unbalanced her and caused her to topple off. The laughter got louder as she got up, face red, and left the cafeteria with a shout of, "THIS ISN'T OVER!"
Nathan snickered, "Dude, I thought she was gonna like chop off your dick and shove it in your eye and pull it out your ear or something with that face she had, but this was her plan? That was hilarious."
Terrence nodded, "Seriously." They got up, throwing their food away and walking out into the hall. They split up, Jackson heading to Health, Nadia going to Spanish, and Terrence and Nathan to Math.
The blonde groaned, "Ughhh, I don't wanna go to math. Ms. Blane is so horrible. I feel like she wants to kill us all. Like, what does she have against human teenagers?"
Terrence chuckled, thinking to himself that she isn't the only one with something against humans. Well, technically he wasn't against them. He usually only drank animal blood that his mom got anyways. He's never hunted, at least never hunted humans. His mom has only done it a few times, maybe once or twice a year and always going to different cities to do so. Whatever blood she brought back was the only taste of human blood he's ever had.
He followed Nathan to their seats in the back, trying to ignore the sound of Ms. Blane writing the starting equation on the board, using unnecessary force which caused the chalk to let out an irritating sound that annoyed Terrence to no end. Sensitive hearing sucked. No pun intended.
"Alright, Mr. Lockhart, could you come up here and solve this equation?" Terrence groaned before pushing himself up and walking to the board. Today was going to be a long day.

By the time lunch came around, Terrence was ready to rip the head off of every teacher in the school, as well as hunt down whoever came up with the idea of quizzes. He sat down at the table with a huff, pulling his peanut butter and jelly sandwich out and biting into it. It was one of the few things he could stand eating, although he hated how the peanut butter stuck to his mouth and how the jelly tasted too sweet.
"Rough day in paradise?" Jackson asked as he sat beside him with a tray of what looked like pizza, fries, and apple juice.
Terrence scoffed, "What Paradise? This is Hell inside and out."
His point was proven Jackson took a bite of the... pizza?.... and spit it out, looking rather green in the face.
"See? Even the food sucks."
"Oh shush, all you over bring is pb&j like what the hell dude expand your palate a bit."
"Since when do you use the word palate?"
"Since forever." Terrence raised an eyebrow, disbelief written on his face. "Ok so I learned what it meant today, geez. Anywhore, what are you doing tonight?"
"Nothing much, why?" Terrence finished the rest of his sandwich and raised his eyebrow again, curious this time.
"Could I come over? My parents are going to be out on a date and I don't want to be there when they come home ready to do the do."
Terrence laughed, pulling his phone out. "Of course, just let me text my mom real quick."
•To: Mom
Hey, Jackson is coming over tonight. Be prepared.A reply came in seconds later.
•From: Mom
Gotcha, we'll have spaghetti tonight then. After shooting off a quick 'OK,' Terrence turned back to Jackson, who was picking at his fries with a disturbed face. "She said that's fine, and we're having spaghetti tonight."
The ginger's face lit up, "Oh thank god! Your mom makes the best spaghetti! I swear you guys are Italian. Y'all make some kinda pasta somethin whenever I come over, it's delicious! My mom could take some lesson from yours."
Terrence snickered, but inside his stomach was rolling slightly. The reason they always had something pasta or meatloaf or lasagna whenever someone came by was because it was easier to sneak blood in that way. His mind flew to the fridge tucked under the island counter that held jugs of blood. His mom had probably already put the lock on so that nobody could get into it. It would be a disaster if Jackson found out. They've been friends for 11 years, having met when Terrence was 3, and there was no was he wanted to lose the closeness they had. Sure, he had Nathan and Nadia, but Jackson was different. He was his best friend and his opinion mattered more than anyone else's. Well, maybe not over his mom's.
Terrence sighed softly, if only he could tell Jackson about all this. How would he react, though? Would he scream and run? Yell at him to never talk to him again? Call a Hunter? Or maybe, would he be fine with it? Would he joke around and asked if the new kid looked tasty, or what animal he had for dinner the night before? Would he make stupid puns all the time and not be grossed out when Terrence drank? Would it all be ok?
"ence.. Terrence... OI REN!" Terrence's eyes widened, startled out of his thoughts, before he finally relaxed.
"I told you not to call me Ren."
"What were you thinking about? You looked like you just watched somebody kill your cat and you were deciding whether to bury it or burn it."
Terrence looked at him wide eyed, "who would burn the poor kitty?" 'Well I know someone who would kill it.. and drink it's blood..' he thought to himself.
Jackson shrugged, "My cousin Jerry burned his cat when she died of old age. Said it would be better than leaving her to rot in the ground."
The vampire looked at the redhead like he was crazy before shaking his head, "poor kitty."
What am I doing with my life? With this story?
