Music: Floral and Fading (by Pierce the Veil)

AND ETERNALLY YOURS (by MOTIONLESS IN WHITE)

*Chris's POV*

"He wasn't in school today." Ricky shrugged his shoulders, tongue bit between his teeth as he focused on his doodling. He was getting better and better every day with his realism. "It was like dead in classes." I cringed at his wording. It's almost like he knew that i did it and the guilt was eating away at my stomach like a parasite. He knew, oh god he knew. I spent all of this time earning his trust and affection from within these four little walls and now he'll hate my guts. I should have just killed him when i had the chance. No.

"Did the others leave you alone?" I was a master at keeping my voice emotionless and unflinching and it worked to my advantage. I just wanted him to be safe. I just wanted him to not have to live in fear of his own kind. He is more powerful than he thinks, if only he didn't live in such a shy shell.

"No, they were quiet, too. They were whispering a lot though." He stopped etching into the lined paper and looked at the sketch for a moment. "How does this look?" He flipped the sketchbook to show me through the little slots in the closet door.

"Accurate." I scoffed at the engraved hearts, around his doodle of me, that he so desperately tried to erase but the indentations still remained. I knew i shouldn't let this continue, it'll put both of us in danger but i couldn't stop the wicked smile on my lips.

"Are the claws long enough?" I only chuckled. "Why don't you just show me what you look like?" He asked thoughtlessly. "I wouldn't tell anyone." He added.

"Ricky?" His mom knocked lightly on the slightly ajar door. Her demeanor was softer today, it didn't take a genious to figure out that something was wrong. "I have to talk to you." She gave him a small, sympathetic smile as she entered, kneeling beside him on his bed. "Were any of the kids talking about Jason Williams today?" She was still wearing her pastel blue scrubs from work that made a weird schwish sound when she moved. I was hypersensitive to sounds and i still couldnt get the gurgling sounds Jason was making out of my skull.

"The teachers were talking to us about it... that he won't be going to school anymore. We all know he's dead though, i don't know why they won't tell us that like we're five year olds." He continued to sketch and erase in eratic patterns. Oh how mature you've gotten

"Listen, Ricky, i'm going to speak frankly with you.  I know you're not a kid anymore so i'm going to tell you what the police told us all." Ricky finally looked up from his drawing and pushed his long locks of hair behind his now pierced ears, i had watched hims stick in the needles to the fleshy parts of his ears and my chest swelled with pride. He was always fearless when it came to things.

"They said they found claw marks near his bed and he was found suffocated in his bed." I could hear the clutter of heart beats in the room.  "Theory is it was an animal that had somehow managed to get into his house and attacked him while he tried to call for his parents." Ricky  had gotten really quiet and i knew something was wrong as he sniffled back a tear that made his face turn red. "So, i want you to lock your doors at night just incase of another freak incident like that."

"That's not going to help." He looked directly at me through the closet door. He shook his head and his mom nodded, thinking he needed time to process everything. and left him be. As soon as the door clicked shut he nearly snarled at me.

"Ricky..." I should have stayed quiet.

"What did you do?" He smeared a tear across his redhot cheek.

"I had to." There was no point in lying. I didn't have morals enough to lie for a mortal, even Ricky. "Ricky..."

              "Don't fucking talk to me."
