When Matpat came back into the live streaming room, he saw Jason, Matthew, and Steph sitting around.

"Where is the other Stephanie?" Matpat asked while taking his seat next to Steph.

"She's in the other dimension along with the dead to make sure that no one turns off the portal." Matthew replied, his limps now free from his binds. They were swollen and a pale cream covered his arms.

"So why haven't you left?" Matpat questioned. He just wanted to leave this whole mess behind him before his thirst of blood resurfaces.

Matthew lowered his eyes, "I'm not a moron. With the king dead, the world will be plunged into chaos until someone new rises to power."

"So you want to hide out here?" Jason piped up.

Matthew stood up and exhaled loudly, "No, now that I have what I came here for," he patted the inside of his tunic where the map resided, "I have nothing else to earn from being here. Plus, your world's air is too sweet for me," Matthew limped over to the swirling vortex before scanning the trio before him, "this shall be the last time we see each other. Goodbye."

Matthew jumped into the vortex and a few minutes later, the ghostly green circle evaporated.

Steph leaned against Matpat's shoulder, "Thank goodness this is all over."

Matpat patted her head before shifting his gaze to Jason, "Thanks for everything. Sorry if I um, ruined your bat."

Jason's eyes shifted to the bloodied bat in his hands and shrugged, "its fine but," he shifted his feet around, "is it okay if I take a few days off?"

Matpat nodded and motioned to Jason that he could leave, which the blond did with haste. As the door closed with a thud, Matpat leaned against the couch, bringing a slumbering Steph with him.

It was all over. Yet, Matpat couldn't shake the feeling of dread. After all, he killed a man in cold blood.

And he liked it.
