A month later in New York...
Kongpob and Arthit completed their marriage registration at city clerk office. They went there by taxi from Residence Inn in Manhattan, the place where they would stay for 4 days. They spent about 26 minutes on the way.
"That was fast." Arthit commented. He thought it would be troublesome, but no, everything went smoothly. They came and showed the confirmation number, and the officer gave the documents to be checked and signed. Finish.
"I''ve told you." Kongpob smiled proudly. "But tomorrow morning we need to come back here to hold the ceremony."
"Ceremony? What ceremony?"
"Wedding ceremony."
Arthit slack-mouthed. He couldn't believe what Kongpob said. "Are you gonna hold a wedding party? For God's sake, Kongpob, what are you doing?"
"It's not a wedding party, P'Arthit... It's wedding ceremony. The cost is even cheaper that the registration itself." Kongpob explained clearly. "I still want to buy a car someday, you know." Kongpob teased Arthit. "I know you were being considerate because the thing that I've said 2 or 3 years ago."
Arthit laughed softly, "Who do you think I am? It's not you who was my boyfriend. I was your boyfriend, too." He walked away just like that.
"But now you are my husband!" Kongpob shouted from his place, haven't followed Arthit's step yet.
Arthit sighed. Why was his husband so shameless? He asked himself. "Are you gonna stay there and announce to the world along day?" Arthit turned his back to see his husband was standing straight, looking at him with all thw delightness on his face. "Hurry up! I'm hungry!"
Kongpob did a little run to be by Arthit's side. They walked almost 10 minutes since they went out from the city clerk office. They glanced at each other frequently. There was no holding hands or chit chat between them.
"What do you want to eat?" Kongpob broke the silence.
"Hamburger."
"Why hamburger?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Why?"
Arthit chuckled, "Okay, stop it."
There was a wide grin in his husband's face. It had been succeeded for making him annoyed most of the time, but not today. That too-happy look couldn't annoyed him even a bit.
"You don't want hamburger?"
"I will eat anything that you want me to eat." Kongpob said.
Arthit nodded. He understood his husband perfectly. Not as perfect as Kongpob to him, but... enough to know what he meant.
"Do you wanna go there?" Arthit pointed out at a small restaurant with yellow flag garland vibes, called Sole Di Capri.
Kongpob agreed, "Sure."
They went inside the small and cute restaurant and chose the table beside the wine bar. They ordered two plates of two different flavor pasta and two bottles of sparkling water.
"Please wait for around 20 minutes for the pasta." The friendly staff noted them.
Arthit was looking around the restaurant when he felt another man's skin touched his palm. Kongpob wrapped Arthit's palm with his own and stroked it tenderly.
Arthit pretended not to care about that. He wished that Kongpob couldn't notice his heartbeat. His husband said nothing, either.
Kongpob's touch was warm. Arthit could give anything for that warmth. Arthit stared at his wrapped hands before he realized it. It made Kongpob grinned.
