"This is a terrible idea," Yuuri groaned.
"What do you mean! It's a wonderful idea," Viktor retorted.
"In what way is this a wonderful idea?" Yuuri asked.
"Okay, for one, we would get to see all our skating friends at once, for two, it would be entertaining, and for three, it'd be really great to see everyone in one place again."
"It would be all of us in one place. Something that hasn't happened since we both retired? Do you have any idea how much chaos would ensue?"
"Exactly! It would be amazing!"
"You're not going to give up on this are you?"
"Nope."
"Well then I see no point in arguing anymore, but I'm not doing any of the planning or organizing or anything like that."
Viktor started to pout at that, but then he realized that Yuuri had actually agreed to this, and his face broke into a smile, "Yay! You won't regret this!"
"Oh, speaking of regrets, one more condition. No alcohol is allowed, okay?" Yuuri said, remembering the infamous incident at the grand prix final all those years ago.
"But that would've been so much fun!" Viktor whined.
"You're lucky that I'm even agreeing to this. The least you can do is make sure that nobody has any alcohol. That would end up being such a complete mess!"
"Yes! An entertaining, beautiful mess!"
"No alcohol," Yuuri said with a note of finality.
"Fine," Viktor mumbled.
A month and a half later, Yuuri and Viktor's apartment was filled with skaters. Not everybody who they'd invited had been able to make it, though. Leo had an upcoming competition that he had to prepare for, and so he couldn't fly all the way to Japan for a party, even though most people were taking the opportunity to stay in Japan for a while to sight see and just take a break from their hectic lives. It was, after all, the off season for most, except for Leo apparently. As well as Leo, Emil wasn't able to make it, saying that he just didn't know anybody well enough for it to be worth it, even though he could easily make friends with everybody there. Georgi couldn't make it because, as Mila informed them, he had just gotten a new girlfriend and was way too invested in the relationship to go out of Russia for even a second. And Seung-Gil Lee had just said no, without even bothering to come up with an excuse.
However, there were still many skaters still there. Yuri, Mila, JJ, Guang-Hong Ji, Minami, Otabek, Sara, Mickey, Chris, and Phichit, as well as Yuko and Takeshi were all gathered in the apartment chatting amongst themselves and enjoying the food that had been set out for everyone.
"I have an idea!" Phichit exclaimed after noticing that Yuuri and Viktor owned a certain movie.
"What is it?" Yuuri asked.
"We're watching the King and the Skater!!!!" Phichit said excitedly.
"Do you know how many times I've had to watch that movie thanks to you," Yuuri moaned.
"It's only because it's the best movie in the world, and not everybody here has seen it so we need to watch it!" Phichit said, already putting in the movie.
As the movie started, Yuuri remembered something from earlier. A detail that he had noticed, but had not had time to dwell on. He remembered that when Yuri and Otabek had been talking to each other, Yuri had been blushing. Yuri. Blushing. Yuuri was honestly surprised that the angry man ever blushed, but it would make sense for him and Otabek to be together. Yuuri decided that he needed to figure out if they were dating, and he was honestly bored out of his mind from the movie. He had seen it way too many times. He didn't understand how Phichit could stand to rewatch something that much! Sure, it was a good movie and all, but after a while, something just gets boring right?
