Second day

I wake up and stretch. I look around and sigh. School. I get up and walk to my closet seeing a note on the door.

'School said they changed the uniform rules. You can wear casual clothes but they said since you're in orientation you must wear something small and girly.

Great! But the second part is not so great. At least I got that one pair. Eh, was a dare. I get the clothes and put them on.

I get my stuff and get ready to go as I grab a protein bar. I go to the school walking since my parents are out.

I get there and the girls look at me with questioning looks. Guess wearing the jeans that go just under my crotch and the shirt that goes above my chest muscles wasn't that great of a choice.

Both being red of course and the shirt saying 'proudly gay'. That wasn't my choice.

I get to the spot where we all are and I gladly see I'm not the worst. The other guys wear their usual clothes just the longer pieces of fabric knotted or tied to look girly.

At least I look better. And then I see my brother which is wearing the same outfit as me. Yah, I have a brother. Both of us are adopted.

He walks to me with the same shirt and shorts as me just blue. I chuckle softly.

"Glad to know I'm not the only one!" I say to him.

"Same, though I kept getting looks." He says.

"I guess it's because of what stands on our shirt, Gian." I say.

"I know but it's not that big of a deal, Dimitri. I mean, it's not like it's new." He says.

I nod and then the seniors come and we get into our rows.

"Alright everyone! Since the rules changed the theme changed! It's now called 'Proudly Gay'! And I see two of you actually knew!" A guy says and points to me and my brother.

Everyone looks at us and we scoff and lean against each other to keep our backs closed.

Then we're sent to the hall to do something they didn't want to tell us.

"I totally hope they aren't having us walk in front of everyone like this!" My brother whisper yells.

"Me too" I say and we are forced to make one long row.

We walk in and over the stage and sit at the front, while me and my brother sit next to each other.

We wait until the principal comes in and give her speech.

After the speech the whole hall is cleared and the freshman are said have a fun day today.

We are taken to the field where there are many things to do. Things I don't really do.

My brother does join though. He seems to already have a group of friends while I am alone on the bleachers.

I get out my headphones and my phone. I plug the headphones in and put them on my head.

I play a song I often listen and I enjoy it. I hum and bob my head a bit while I listen. I notice someone coming to me and take off my headphones.

I get up to leave to a private spot. I find a spot next to the field under some trees. I sit there and look in my bag, hoping I lost the person that was following me.

I find what I'm looking for and take it out. A pack of cigarettes and a lighter. I take a cig and put it in my lips as I light it.

So what? I smoke. I take a drag and taste the sweet cherry taste it has. Then I see someone approach me and hide the cigarette.

"Don't hide it. I already saw you." The person says.

"You not gonna bite my head off?" I ask.

"Nope, I actually want one. What you smoke?" He asks, I'm assuming this person is a guy.

"Camel double." I say taking a drag from my cigarette.

"Cool, can I have one?" He asks.

I get one out and give it to him while I light it for him.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Ronald. Yours?" He asks me.

"Dimitri." I say.

"You from another country?" He asks me.

"Why you ask?" I say.

"You have a accent." He says.

"You're the one with a accent." I say.

"No, you are and tell me." He says.

"I'm from Italy. I never shook the accent and don't ask me to speak Italian. I don't know how but I inherited the accent." I say.

"Sounds interesting. Why you here?" He asks.

"I was adopted when I was six. Don't worry, it's not that bad." I say.

After that we chatted until school ended. He asks me for my number and I give it to him. I meet my brother and we walk to my mom's car.

"Giancarlo! Aren't you going to walk home like you usually do?" My mom asks my brother.

"I'm just a bit tired mom." He says.

The rest of the drive is silent. Some small words were exchanged but that was about it.

Once we get home me and my brother decide sleep is a better choice than staying awake.
