Chapter 5

Carter finally stops pressing on my burn and puts the wrap on my hand to hold the pieces of gauze in place on my hand.

"Thank you." I say rubbing my hand gently as he walks out. he turns back and says the most stupid thing ever.

"I like cats."

He walks out again. What the frick was that? That was way to random. like even for me.

I decided to let it go and go take a shower. I start heading to my bathroom and stop almost immediately. I turn back and head to my sisters room where she is quietly sitting on her bed listening to music.

"Ayy" I say walking into her room.

"What do you want?" she says turning off her music, looking at me annoyed.

"I want to take a shower." I say leaning up against her wall.

"And?" she says looking down at her phone.

"I burnt my hand I don't know how to like yeah. What do I do?"

"Put a plastic bag on it maybe I don't know figure it out." she says still staring at her phone screen.

I nod than walk out of her room.

"Carter?" I yell downstairs

"What?"

"Bring me a plastic bag! i'm going to take a shower"

About 30 seconds later I hear Carter running up the stairs.

"I got your plastic ba-" he cuts off then I hear a bunch of thud noises. My sister runs out of her room to see what happened. she looks at me. I look back at her. she runs beside me and we both look downstairs. we hear Carter Get up and Anna lets out a sigh of relief.

"I'm good" carter says walking cautiously up the stairs. he hands me a plastic bag and I thank him. My sister walks back to her room and Carter walks back downstairs.

I look around awkwardly walk to my bathroom. I put the bag on my burnt hand and secure it with a hair tie. I turned the shower on to hot and strip. as I finish, I step into the shower not noticing that I still had my socks on. fuck sakes. I reach down and pull one sock off at a time. I do my regular shower routine and soon get out. I sit on my bed still naked with only a towel covering me up. I check my phone and go on Twitter. Nothing too interesting. I take the plastic bag off which was annoying me and attempt to throw it in the garbage bin across the room. i miss and just leave it lying on the floor. I go downstairs to watch some TV only to see Carter making out with his girlfriend. I just stare with my mouth wide open. what the Frick?

I clear my throat both look at me shocked. his girlfriend's eyes are wide open.

"Hii!" Carter says smiling big and waving at me.

"Um I'll be over there making myself a sandwich or something do you guys need anything? drinks? food? a condom.." I say mumbling the last part.

"What?" Carter says

"Nothing" I say turning around to walk into the kitchen.

"Please tell me!! pleeeeaasse??" he says as I turn around to see him stretched leaning over the back of the couch. his girlfriend stands up and the couch tips over backwards making Carter fall on his face. I stare at him trying not to laugh. his girlfriend is looking at him and I wide eyed and smiling really big.

Carter gets up and puts the couch back into its original position.

"Welp! Cassey and I are going to see a movie! peace." Carter says quickly as he takes his girlfriends hand and speed walks through the front door. I turn around to lean on the island, checking my phone.

No notifications. k then.

I stand up properly to go to the sofa and watch tv. as I get to the sofa, I hear a faint knock at my door. I run towards my front door and open it very suddenly.

"Holy shit!" my old friend jade says in shock, holding her heart and using the stair railing as a support.

"Oh my god. hi jade."
