Peering out the window of Nathan's flat, I pulled my knees to my chest and watched the world below as people passed by on the street. One couple in particular caught my interest. There was a male and a female surrounded by a group of male friends. If it wasn't for the occasional nudge in the side that the male received from one of them, I never would have guessed they were a part of the same group. The couple's attention was on one another, their surroundings seemingly melting away.

I felt a small tug at my lips as they smiled bashfully at each other, familiar with that feeling. It was how I felt around Nathen while the boys were around, the only difference being that Jay and Tom had a knack for stealing my attention every few minutes.

Feeling a pair of arms drape around my shoulders from behind, my smile widened at the warmth of Nathan's chest as he pressed it against my back and nuzzled his nose against the back of my head. I listened as he breathed in deeply.

“Anything happening outside?” he questioned quietly, his breath tussling my hair.

I shrugged, reaching up to link my fingers through his as they hung above my collarbones. “Nothing interesting.”

He hummed in response and slipped his hands from mine, dropping them around my waist. Pulling me backward, off the windowsill I had been perched on, he brought me to my feet and turned us around, guiding me down the hallway. I craned my neck to look over my shoulder at him, my curiosity getting the better of me. He grinned at me, but said nothing as he continued to steer me in the direction of his bedroom.

“What are we doing, Nath?” I questioned.

He smirked. “I want to show you something.”

I frowned at the vagueness of his answer. I hated surprises. “Can I have a hint?”

He chuckled, shaking his head. “You'll find out soon enough.”

I blew out a heavy breath of air and rolled my eyes. I should have known better than to expect him to offer up any information. As much as he knew I hated surprises, he surprised me quite often.

With his arms still secured around my waist, he walked me into his bedroom and closed the door behind us with a swing of his foot. I listened to it as it banged shut, the knob clicking into place, and waited in silence as Nathan fumbled for the light switch. It was still daylight, but he always kept his shades drawn to prevent curious neighbors from peering in. I was pretty thankful for that, actually. Ever since him and I had announced our relationship, fans had started to watch us pretty closely. There was no doubt in my mind that they would snap a few pictures of us from one of the flats across the street if given the opportunity.

Feeling a pair of damp lips press against my neck, I sucked in a sharp breath as goosebumps spread across my skin. I tilted my head to the side, giving him more room to run his lips along the sensitive area. His lips tickled me as they pulled into a smirk, his hands finding their way to my waist from behind. He pulled me back against him, humming as the warmth of our bodies lingered between us. Sucking a bit of skin between his teeth, he bit down gently and chuckled at the sound that slipped through my lips. I couldn't honestly tell you what the sound was, all I knew was that I wanted him.

Slipping his hands from my hips, he removed himself from me and walked across the room. I furrowed my eyebrows and stared after him as he opened his closet and shifted through the contents, all evidence of the previous moment gone.

He glanced over at me with a smirk, his eyes dancing playfully, before going back to shifting through his belongings. “Payback's a bitch, isn't it?”

I crossed my arms over my chest and sank down onto his mattress with a huff, glaring at the back of his head. “Is that the only reason we came in here? For payback? If so, I'll just go back out to the living room and watch TV.”
