"Hey, mom. Didn't you used to live in Riverdale?" Tay, the twin of Veronica, asked her mother as the three of them climbed out of the car at the entrance to their apartment.

"Yes, indeed I did, Taylor," Tay's mother, Heromine, answered. Tay rolled her eyes, she hated when her mother called her by her first name, Heromine only called her that in a condescending way.

Hermione opened the door "Now brace yourselves. The apartment's small, a pied-a-terre, but 'quality always"

"Quality always" the two teen girls repeated.

"Plus, it's the only piece of property in my name and not your father's." The girls' mother finished.

"Miss Heromine! Welcome home!" The butler exclaimed. The two exchanged small talk about the trip there, earning annoyed looks between Tay and Veronica.

"I'll get the bags," the butler said.

  "Would you?" Heromine asked.

The butler started again, "Oh, and would you like some menus, ma'am, so you can order in?"

"Oh, no. I have been craving one of Pop Tate's cheeseburgers since noon," the woman smiled.

"Is his Chock'lit Shoppe still open?" Questioned Heromine.

"What is a Chock'lit Shoppe and why does it sell burgers?" Tay interrupted.

"I've been thinking about us, Archie, and our friendship, and how it's time we-" Tay heard from across the diner her mother had forced her to go to her with. Her twin decided to walk over to the server and ask about their food, so Tay followed.

"I called in and order, for Lodge?" She questioned.

"Three burgers yeah, almost ready, but you gotta wait," the server said rolling his eyes. Veronica brushed it off, turning to the red headed boy and blonde girl that got cut off when the twins walked in.

"Hi," she said, smiling a warm smile.

  "Hey," the boy answered.

"How are the onion rings here?" Veronica asked. Tay rolled her eyes, she had always envied how easily her sister could get along with people.

  "So good,"

"Can we get some onion rings too please?" Shouted Veronica to the server before turning back to the ginger boy.

"My sister, Mom, and I just moved here, so..." She said.

"From where," the boy asked, like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Tay looked at the blonde girl, gesturing her head towards her sister and rolling her eyes. The blonde girl chuckled, but still looked hurt that the boy she was sitting with was so fascinated by Veronica.

"New York," Veronica answered simply. The guy mumbled something like 'wow'

"Do you guys go to Riverdale?" She smiled.

"We do. Both of us. Together." The blonde girl said.

"Me too," Veronica nodded, "I'm filled with dread."

"Why is that?" The guy answered.

"Are you familiar with the works of Truman Capote?" Veronica started, "I'm 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' but this place is strictly 'In Cold Blood," they laughed.

Tay zoned out at this point, only catching the two's names, Archie Andrews and Betty Cooper, and that Betty was going to be her and Veronica's peer mentor. The girls returned home.
