After Stefan had seen that Adelaide wasn't a gentle soul, he was on alert. Adelaide on the other hand rolled her eyes in annoyance, stretching her arm out to help Damon rise up from the floor.

"I don't have time for this, Damon. Either accept her or ignore her," Elena said softly hiding her hands inside of her back pockets. Damon had no choice but to give in, "fine but I don't trust her." he spoke turning over to look at the Elijah look-a-like brunette. Adelaide hissed in his direction and laughed cockily while she turned around towards the renaissance like sofas.

She leaned against the arm rest and used her elbows to prop herself up to watch the Salvatores. Somehow - admiring them. Admiring their burning desire to protect this single human. Though with so much love, there's always jealousy guiding one or the other.

"Where are you going? Klaus is out there," Stefan spoke sternly causing for Adelaide to switch her gaze towards a determined Elena carrying a schoolbag. "I'm going to school. I can't live my life in fear Stefan."

Before Stefan can convince the determined girl, Adelaide interjected their conversation. 'Alaric' turned to his sister/new found friend. He was curious as to see what was inside of the small brunettes mind -

"So let's go to school boys. I have never been." She spoke rising herself up from the sofa. She patted down her coat and pushed her curls behind her shoulders.

"Klaus is out there, he can take her at anytime-"

"So what, Salvatore. The gal is correct. Sooner or later she'll lose her damn mind being stuck in this humble abode you've given her. Really, Salvatore. Let the girl go see her friends and mingle or whatever teenagers do this century," Adelaide snapped her eyes turning a bit red on the edges of her brown eyes. Nobody had noticed this but Stefan, they were all focused on the fact that Adelaide was right.

Pleased, Adelaide then turned around and slid off her coat. On her way out the small brunette handed her coat to Stefan, he watched her in curiosity. She was a force to be reckoned with, she approached them with fear and within seconds she appeared stronger than Damon. Even though, Elena's protection comes first. While Adelaide adjusted her curls and walked towards Alaric's car she felt someone pull her back. She hissed and then realized it was Stefan. Her fangs were in full show and her eyes were a bit red, Stefan squinted his eyes and stared at her red iris' he then looked at the girl who appeared to look confused at his grip.

"Get your hands off me. Don't make me compel you." She threatened causing for Stefan to release her, "I don't know what you're up to Adelaide but I'm here for Elena's protection." Stefan spoke slowly, his dark voice making himself clear on why he didn't trust her.

It didn't seem to faze Adelaide, she chuckled and took hold of her coat from his hands. "You know-" she started sliding on her coat, covering her dress and figure underneath. "It's cute. This whole protect Elena shindig. It's sweet don't get me wrong, I just don't see why. You can't grow old with her. Unless you turn her but really, this love won't last Salvatore. That girl may not die tomorrow but someday she will. Why dedicate yourself to someone who's just going to leave you in the end." Adelaide cleared her throat and pulled her curls out from her coat, tying the felt belt around her waist, her figure becoming clear through the coat.

"It's not worth it."

Inside of Alaric's car, Adelaide looked out the window and wondered how it was before she was a vampire. Before being cold was comforting. Before Klaus was a monster. Before Elijah was her enemy. Before everything became difficult.

"Nice save back there. In a few days there's this dance. It's a pretty bad topic if you ask me. Eighties dance. Horrid year for completely everything." Klaus spoke while he searched for a parking space in the school parking lot. "I've never been to a school. I've always learned in my own ways." Adelaide spoke softly her fingers twisting the necklace adorning her neck all the way down her collar bones. It was her daylight necklace. It was old but vintagely beautiful.

"The guy who's body you took over is hot, but once you give him his body back I won't be able to look past the fact that you were my brother. So thanks for ruining a toy for me."

Klaus laughed a bit, making Adelaide smile before he finally parked the car. She climbed out of the car and adjusted herself before making her way over towards the group that seemed to hate her more than Damon. "So, what class?" Adelaide asked walking beside some tall blonde dude.

Elena looked over at Adelaide and smiled before turning to the blonde man, "Matt this is Adelaide."

Adelaide smiled and broke through the group, "shame Damon isn't here. I do enjoy annoying him," she spoke softly walking past the group and walking down the hall. Stefan couldn't help but chuckle at her comment while he walked beside Elena.

"Where is Damon anyways?" Elena asked smiling at Adelaide's remark. "Just some things. We should go to Alaric's."

Adelaide walked inside of the classroom and waved at a few of the people. She walked past them all and slid off her coat to sit beside Elena, Stefan looked at Adelaide and raised an eyebrow. "I sit there," he said as she looked down at his hands, her eyes trailing up to his. "I don't see a problem in me sitting here though, Salvatore." She smiled leaning against the desk and raising an eyebrow. When the class begun Adelaide gave in and grabbed her coat, standing up slowly from the chair.

She tilted her head to the side and looked up at the tall and lean man before her. "Have fun." She whispered, a small smile on her lips as she walked past Stefan and out of class.

Alaric walked in and raised an eyebrow, brushing off the departure of Adelaide.

"What is my topic?"

-

Adelaide walked inside of the Salvatore home and slid off her heels making her appear even smaller. She ran her fingers through her curls and hanged up her coat before she looked up to see Damon.

"Make yourself at home. Why not." Damon said rolling his eyes as Adelaide smirked following the man holding a book. "Oh come on. Your friends nor brother may not like me but at least they withstand me. What's your deal, bunny?" Adelaide spoke skipping behind him, she smiled and then skipped beside the man. He turned to her and admired her innocent appearance, short girl bouncing excitingly beside him. Not something he's use to see.

Quickly, he shook his head and then turned to her, stopping himself from walking any further. Adelaide groaned and turned around, her curls looking like a mess from her constant skipping.

"Why are you helping us, again?"

Adelaide raised an eyebrow and shook her head, "you see, Salvatore. How do you want me to trust you with my secrets and sorrows if you can't even look at me with respect. Now. Where's the shower?"

With that, Adelaide turned around and skipped over towards the direction of his bedroom. Damon shook his head trying to shake away the idea that she had a point, all he knew was that she despised her brother. He tried to look through some history of the Mikaelson's but this was the first he had heard of an Adelaide Mikaelson.

Damon walked inside of his bedroom and watched a trail of clothes leading towards his bathroom, he stood at the edge of the bathroom door while the foggy shower held a small Adelaide.

"You see, Damon. I'm not easily understood. I don't trust and I damn well don't love. A thousand years is a long time for a lot of hurt. Not a long time for remorse. Trust me or don't, black haired Salvatore. It'll take you a century for me to trust you. Start counting."
