They got up at daybreak had a strong cup of coffee and left about 8 AM. Frances was so excited she was shaking so she started singing to herself "You are my sunshine my only sunshine please don't take my sunshine away!" Me Maw loved this song . She was humming along.
Papa was thinking about drinking a cold beer and eating a poor boy while the women shopped. His stomach was rumbling from hunger. "Now you two meet me at Pat's no later than 3 pm "he said sternly. "Sure sure go on enjoy yourself ,"MeMaw yelled back over the traffic sounds. They walked to the corner where their favorite fabric shop stood. A sale was in process they both cried yeah!at once then smiled. Hurrying in, Frances almost knocked over several bolts of fabrics.
They were looking at many laces,patterns and fabric finally they had everything needed to make the dress. Me Maws watch said 2:45 so they ran down to the bar and grill as fast as they could. Papa was coming out with a red face. He was building up a temper. "well, good your here girls,"he said softly when he saw them.
