''Wake up!'' Natalya heard her brother ; Aiden shout. She gently rubbed her eyes as she felt the warm sun beam through her curtains. ''Coming.'' She grunted. She quickly turned to look at her alarm clock ; gasping once she see's that she only has 20 minutes to get ready for school.
Natalya jumps out of bed and runs over to her wardrobe ; scanning quickly for something suitable to wear. ''Ah that's it.'' She grinned to herself. It was the last day of school , then she was free to do what she wanted for summer. ''Hurry up!'' Aiden demanded. She quickly threw on her skirt and tank top ; followed by her denim jacket. ''I'm coming, Jesus.'' Natalya shouted back , quickly jogging down the stairs.
Natalya and Aidan had always clashed , due to them being twins. However , they were always there to protect each other. Aidan was extremely protective of his sister, especially when it came to boys. Natalya had a bad experience with her ex-boyfriend. The next day he ended up in hospital with quite a few injuries ; courtesy of Aidan.
They were non-identical , and complete opposites. Aidan was a jock and very egotistical. Whereas Natalya enjoyed the small things in life. She loved dancing , it was one of her favourite hobbies. However , she would never boast about it ; not like Aidan.
Both of the siblings got into the car and headed to school. They stopped at an unknown house, a confused expression soon dominated Natalya's face. ''Where are we?'' She raised an eyebrow. ''Corey's house, you've been here before you idiot.'' Aidan looked at his watch.
Natalya's nerves started to build up. She always felt nervous around Corey, ever since they were little. Corey's family had always been close with Natalya's since she could remember. This was mainly due to Corey and Aidan being best friends, and both of their mothers being good friends.
Natalya's fondest memory with Corey was when they were both in her treehouse, they were both 8 years old. Both of the young children were discussing the topic of love. She vividly remembers Corey talking about how he admired his parents love for each other. Of course , he wasn't using words like 'admire'. They both sat in the treehouse , confused about what love really was.
Judy, Corey's mother, called Corey's name and told him that they had to leave as she was taking Corey and Aidan to soccer practice. Just as he was about to climb down the ladder ; he leaned towards Natalya. He gently placed a kiss on her cheek. Natalya has had a little something for him ever since. That 'little something' was a feeling of adoration. Corey was always on her mind. She wished that one day he would feel the same.
She was brought back to reality by the door of the car slamming loudly. ''How's it going, Bro?'' Aidan asked Corey whilst pulling out of the street. ''Pretty good. I'm still recovering from Friday night.'' Corey groaned ; rubbing his temples. ''That was one crazy party, dude. You just wait for my birthday soon.''
Natalya got slightly annoyed with Aidan's comment about his birthday. ''Mom hasn't even agreed to let you have it yet. And, it is my birthday to.'' She rolled her eyes. ''Whatever, you know she'll cave in. Yeah well... you can invite some of your friends then.'' Aidan compromised. ''Alright.'' She shrugged ; not wanting to carry on the meaningless conversation with her egotistical brother.
The rest of the ride , Natalya stayed silent whilst the two guys spoke about topics she had no interest in. She'd take quick glances at Corey , luckily he didn't notice. She couldn't help but admire his features. How his dirty blonde hair would slightly flutter in the wind, and how his beautiful smile would make her melt into a puddle of emotions. Her favourite feature of Corey's had to be his eyes. Natalya loved how they would glisten in the sunlight. They reminded her of an ocean ; extremely calming and peaceful.
''How's Lala?'' Aidan asked Corey. This caused Natalya to snap out of her trance. She had completely forgot about his girlfriend in those few seconds she spent looking at him. Just the sound of her name annoyed Natalya. Lala was a cheerleader, Corey was a jock. It was bound to happen. ''Yeah, she's okay I guess.'' Corey shrugged. He looked to the side mirror and caught Natalya looking at him. She quickly looked away once she noticed he caught her staring. A smirk soon dominated Corey's face.
Corey always found Natalya attractive, he couldn't deny that. He admired that she always stuck to what she thought was right. He also liked that she was nothing like her brother, she never had to follow a crowd , she was always her own person. Corey would always glance at her when nobody wasn't looking , he thought she was truly beautiful ; inside and out. However, he tried to block out that thought. He needed to remember , he has a girlfriend. And, she is his bestfriends twin sister.
They pulled up to the school and got out of the car. ''See ya, Nattie.'' Aidan waved , Corey also waved her goodbye. She smiled in response to them both.
''Yo my girl, Natalya!'' Winona chanted as she stubbed out her cigarette. ''Hey.'' Natalya giggled. Winona was very protective of Natalya, like an older sister. ''C'mon, lets go see the others before class.''
The two girls met with their other close friends. Wil was sitting down on the bench awkwardly, next to them was River and Martha. They were engaged in a deep make out session , which was soon interrupted by Winona. ''Can't you see poor Wheaton sitting right next to you?'' She raised an eyebrow. ''Oh. sorry, Wil.'' River scratched his neck awkwardly. ''It's okay. At least somebody is getting some action around here.'' Wil huffed. ''Don't worry. You'll get a girlfriend one day.'' Winona squeezed his cheeks.
''Stop that, Winona!'' His voice screeched , causing Natalya to erupt into a fit of laughter. ''Right come on guys. Lets get to class.'' Martha rolled her eyes playfully, grabbing River's hand.
''Would you believe it. We're nearly seniors!'' Wil smiled as he sat next to Natalya. ''It's weird, huh?'' She smiled. She turned around to grab her bag and saw Corey ; Lala sitting on his lap as she traced her finger tip along his chest. Natalya quickly turned away. ''You still like him, don't you?'' Wil said in a comforting tone. ''N-no. I never have.'' She brushed it off, but Wil knew she was lying. He could see through her lies.
Natalya faced the front of the classroom, wishing she was in Lala's position. She wasn't in love with him, but she always had very strong feelings for him that never seemed to fade.
