Izuku turned and walked away from the crowd, the smile still on his face. He only looked back as there was cheering, and Izuku saw that it was because All Might, blew the monster away.Literally.
'The heroes won! So... why do I feel so... upset?' Izuku thought, turning away with a slight frown on his face.
As Izuku opened the door to his house, his mother rushed forward to see him. "Izuku darling!" Inko cried out happily, small tears in her eyes. "I was so worried, where were you?!"
"Sorry mom, I was at another crime scene. You know, it's a habit." Izuku put on a fake smile that convinced His mother.
As Izuku entered his room, he noticed texts from various friends.
Uraraka:
Knock knock!Reply to me! I want to say a joke!
Izuku? Are you okay? You normally reply by now.
Denki:
Hey man! We're at ramen right now want to join? My treatTsuyu:
🐸Todoroki:
Are you coming to ramen?Midoria are you okay?
Uraraka and I are getting worried.
Izuku this better not be a prank, we're seriously worried.
Katsuki just walked into the ramen shop. He's muttering about you.
Uraraka and I are coming over to your house.Izuku read the last one and went back downstairs, telling his mother. She smiled sweetly and returned to cooking adding extra food for guests.
Izuku waited by the door, occasionally checking to make sure his eyes weren't red. As he checked, he heard hard knocks on the front door.
They didn't wait for someone to answer the door.
"Izuku!" They yell as they barge in, immediately stopping as they see Izuku a foot away from the door, his hand outstretched.
"Guys. I'm fine." Izuku reassured them, turning back to the living room, the false smile disappeared until he sat down, forcing it back.
"Why didn't you reply to the texts!" Uraraka asked immediately after saying hello to Inko. "I was watching a crime scene again. Katsuki was getting attacked by a slime monster, All Might saved him, the usual."
Todoroki and Uraraka looked at each other at the same time as they both knew the lack of enthusiasm was strange, along with the lacking hopeful light in Izuku's eyes.
"Katsuki? Don't you call him Kacchan?" Todoroki asked, earning a shrug from Izuku. "It's his name, plus he seems to hate being called Kacchan." Izuku looked back at them curiously. "You two are acting weird. I'm fine, I promise."
Todoroki and Uraraka didn't seem convinced, but they shrugged it off, having a slight understanding that Izuku didn't feel like talking.
~~~~1 Hour Later~~~~
"I know you guys know something's up. I just..." Izuku took a breath. "I've finally decided to give up on being a hero." Uraraka dropped the fork she was holding, and Todoroki froze his plate.
Izuku was very thankful that Inko already went to bed.
"What?!" They loudly asked in unison, and Izuku winced slightly. "I don't have a chance. It's like All Might himself said." Izuku held back tears. The hero he idolized crushed his dream.
"He doesn't know anything! Izuku, you can't give up!" Uraraka exclaimed, throwing her hands onto the table.
"What would I do? I don't have a quirk!"
They went silent for a while after that, before Izuku commented on something on TV making them laugh. The subject changed, but it was still bugging everyone in the back of their minds.
Izuku walked up to his room as they finally left. Gazing down, he pushed open his door and went to his desk.
Click.
"I can't believe it!"
"I can't believe it.""Ha! Ha, ha, hahahahaha!"
"Look at him! He's got more!"
"Look at him! He's got more!""Hahahahahahahahahaha!"
"Fear not citizens!"
"Fear Not Citizens!""Help has arrived!"
"...Help has arrived.""Because I am here!"
"...Because he is here."Izuku stared at the screen, his head in his arms and his tears falling silently. "Fear so citizens! For I have arrived to mess everything up like I always do!" Izuku yelled, dragging his arm across his desk and knocking everything All Might related off of it.
"Oh, help's here? Well I better get out of the way!" Izuku walked to the other side of his room, kicking over a tall figurine of All Might as he took his steps.
"Oh look. I messed everything up again!" He yelled, tearing down a poster of All Might, leaving strips of the corners still on the walls.
"Oh look... he's crying again." Izuku sat down on the edge of his bed, his cries mixing with laughs as he sat there.
Meanwhile, his mother was outside his door, awakened by him yelling. She wanted to go in, but feared for the worst as Izuku finally fell asleep.
