The place was so ornamental, gold strands woven through the thick dark red fabric of the balcony curtains. The ceramic was a rich cream color. The wide balcony stood overlooking a great crowd. The whole place had a palatial aura surrounding it. And that's when it hit me, I am stood on the balcony of a palace, overseeing a great revolutionary crowd. I was in a faceoff with the ruler, and the crowd went so silent you could hear a pin falling. "Relationships are a weakness that ought to be eradicated. They make life so painful and complex. They make the subjects of ruling that much harder to control," the ruler told me. "You are wrong," my voice rings out clearly and filled with power.
I wake up with a startled gasp, panting in the dark, recovering from the dream. I dreamt of that same balcony I saw once before. The dream was so vivid.
I have really vivid dreams. They're very rare, but strangely they're so realistic and fit with the normal operation of the world. That's too ironic, I think suddenly. How my life is more dreamlike than any of my dreams could ever be.
This is very bizarre. I close my eyes, trying to regain my composure, when a red spot appears in my hindsight. I open my eyes, moving towards the window where the light came from. My heartbeat accelerates so quickly and agonizingly loudly. My breathing comes out in short, ragged gasps. I look through the window only to find nothing. I close my eyes again, but the red spot is gone! Nothing. Maybe I was imagining things. But I am so sure I saw the red soul. Creepy
I begin to feel the prescence of fear within me. It is very strange. I have never known fear before.
Closing my eyes, I reach towards my inner soul, striving towards Cytro. Once I touch my soul core, I am blinded by white light as Cytro materializes in front of me.
Cytro... What was that?
He looks away uncomfortably.Um... I'm not allowed to tell you yet.
ALLOWED?! Who prevents you?
I'm not allowed to tell you; you're not ready yet.
Ready for what? Cytro what am I missing?
I was getting frustated by him pretty quickly. You can't even control your powers yet for heaven's sake Charlie! I can't tell you anything, not when you might get in trouble for it.
Well, he has a point there. I can't control my powers yet. I don't even know who I am. But, of course, I'm not going to tell him that.
Cytro please... You know I hate this. You could've not told me anything at all. But no, heaven forbid, I must stay anxious trying to decipher your words and keep my mind buzzing all day long!
Charlie, I'm not saying anything, and that's that.
The set of his lips told me I wasn't getting anything out of him, again.
Now my mind won't shut up and I won't be able to go back to sleep.
Sigh. This is going to be a long day.

A/N
Yay! I'm on my winter break. I finished my exams last week so I decided to update. I'm proud of my speedy writing as I managed to write this in two days. On the other hand, I feel like it came across as a very shitty chapter 😂😂. So please someone tell me if you think it's good.I'm going to try and update weekly, so the next update should be ready by next Tuesday.
This chapter was central to the plot and is longer than the previous one!
Enjoy!
