Betrayed

Gary Oak

Gary's POV:

It's been about 5 years since I've seen my friend and ex-rival, Ash. His friends wanted me to betray him, but how could I. After everything we've been through? There was no way I could do such a thing. I turned on the TV, hoping to get my mind off it.

"This battle between Iris and Ash is getting ready to start! Are both sides ready?" I heard from the announcer on the television. My eyes widen. 'Ash!' They showed Iris with a pokéball in her hand and Ash smirking with a pokéball in his hand. I watched Ash kick Iris' butt in the battle. As soon as it was over, I got up and raced to my room, grabbed my things, and told Gramps what I was doing. Then, I raced out the door and ran my way to the tournament.

---Time Skip---

I huffed as I made it to the tournament. 'Finally. Made it.' I thought as i put my hands on my knees and bent over.

"Gary?!" I heard someone yell. I looked up to see Ash, Paul, Trip, Max, Jessie, James, Meowth, and a girl staring at me. "What are you doing here?" Ash asked me. I stood up.

"I saw you kick Iris' butt on Tv and I rushed over here to see you. They wanted me to betray you 5 years ago, but I couldn't. No way," I explained to him. "I'm really happy to see you!" Ash smiled.

"Good to see you too," he said. He reached into his pocket and pulled something out. "You still have this?" He showed me the half of the pokéball we broke back then. I smiled and grabbed mine.

"Of course I do," I said.

"I'm sorry, did we miss something?" Trip said. I knew it was him because of Ash's old friends.

"Yeah. Who are you? Ash, is he one of you past friends?" Paul said.

"Yeah. Sorry guys. This is Gary. He's an old childhood friend of mine. He wasn't there during the betrayal," Ash explained to them. "Gary, I know you know Jessie, James, and Meowth. This is Paul, Trip, Max, and Luna," he said gesturing to each one. I nodded.

"It's nice to meet you guys," I said waving to them. "So Ash, where have you been all these years?" I asked him.

"Why don't we go and sit down at that area we found when we first arrived," he said. I nodded and they lead me to an open area in the woods. They all grabbed their pokéballs; I soon did the same.

"Come on out, everyone!" they yelled throwing multiple pokéballs in the air. I did to. I was surprised by how many pokémon they all had combined.

"Wow! So many pokémon!" I said examining them all. They all played around while we all talked. Luna kept blushing and staring at Ash. 'Luna likes Ash! He probably doesn't know, him being dense in all.' I thought while watching them. Trip allowed me to stay in his room while I was here.

"Night guys," they all said to each other. Trip and I got to become good friends that night. I'm glad Ash has many good friends to watch over him. I'm also glad I made new friends here. I'm glad I get to hang out with Ash again and catch up.
