Lily raced through the grass fields ignoring the sting at her side she had to find her family. She remembered the landmarks that they would always pass including the great tree, small brook, and the high ledge. She passed them all and found a cave that looked very similar to the cave she lived in as a cub.She walked towards it and was standing at the entrance."Hello?"Lily asked walking in."Yes?"a familiar voice asked."Its Lily."she said trying to figure out who's voice it was."Lily it's you?"the voice asked walking closer. In the dim light she could just make out a slightly skinny Cheetah."Brother?!"she asked racing towards him."I haven't seen you in forever!"Lily exclaimed stopping at his side."Wait is anyone else here?"she asked looking around the cave."Umm no."her brother said looking down at his paws."You can't hide me from her forever."said a slightly smaller cheetah with glossy fur."I know I just don't want her to blame you."he said looking to the back of the cave.Lily could see a cheetah walking towards her.She stopped and looked at Lily letting out a long sigh"Hello sister."Lily was shocked was this Avery? The fun careless cub that would always chase her around."Avery is that you?"Lily asked backing away."Yes it is."Avery said looking away."You left me."Lily said choking on the words barely getting them out."I had too!"Avery growled making the silence disappear like the sun going down the sky."Why?"Lily asked shocked by her hostility."It was for your own good every Cheetah has to live on its own."she said sitting down."Then why are you here?,with him?"Lily said pointing with her claw towards her brother."Because she couldn't survive on her own like you can!"he yowled frustrated.Avery nodded and sank to the ground in defeat.Lily turned and ran out of the den and fast.Behind her she heard Avery yell "Nooo!!!"but that didn't stop her she kept going.By the time it was night fall she stopped. She was standing in the middle of the forest with a small stream running beside her.It looked like a nice spot to sleep so she climbed a tree and layed on one of the thick branches her mind whirling with thoughts. She eventually cleared her mind and let sleep claim her.
