I was born into this life and I wouldn't wish it on it anybody, from the time I was a small child my parents told me of what we are and what I was destined to be like it was some huge honor, but I didn't want to be royal, I just wanted a normal life but nobody was about to ask me what I wanted.

When I was eight my parents signed some kind of agreement with a royal family to pledge me to marriage when I came of age, I also met my future husband and at the time he was just a small boy with bright blond hair, I didn't even like him.

There were days when I thought of running away and going somewhere they could never find me, but that was never going to happen and I could never leave my little brothers Sebastian and Silas, they weren't born until I was nine and so I had always felt like a sense of proctectiveness over them.

I took solace in the only thing I was allowed to do alone, which is go to school since it was the only thing my father let me do without a bunch of guards, but what I didn't love was that school was almost over and that meant in just a few months I would be marrying Carter Rinehart and I haven't seen him since were kids.

"Hey where's your head?" I heard before I felt a paper ball hit my hair, I looked and Logan Taylor was sitting down with me in study hall.

"Just thinking about my future" I said.

"The future you won't tell me about, look there's a party tomorrow night to celebrate the near end of finals, you have to come this time" he said pleadingly.

"I've told you before Logan, my father's extremely strict and he'd never let me go to a party" I said with a smile.

"Come on Thal, we're graduating, if there was ever a time to rebel it's now" he said.

"I'll see but I can't promise anything, where is it?" I asked.

"At Dylan's house" he said, everyone knew that Dylan threw all the major parties because his family had a huge house on the lake.

Then the bell rang and that meant the school day ended and I had to go where parents picked up their children, but it was never my parents that picked me up because they always sent the security team that had been assigned to me since I was a child, they were always in a big black SUV with windows so dark they were almost blacked out.

"So how was school?" Dominic asked, he had been one of my assigned protectors since I was a baby, he was what was considered a low born in the werewolf society, but him and the other members of my security team had gone to a special school to train them.

"Fine" I said looking out the window.

"What's eating you?" he asked.

"What do you think?" I said looking at him through the rearview mirror.

"Thalia, it won't be that bad, I promise" he said.

It wasn't really what was bothering me right now, but it was marrying someone I don't know was something that had stewed at the back of my mind for a while.

"You can't guarantee that once it's over, his family will be providing me with a protector once it's done" I said.

"That isn't what's bugging you right now, spill" he said.

I knew once he had onto something he'd never let it go, he was only thirty which is still considered young in our world since we have such long lives, but in many ways he was older than his years.

"There's an end of the year party I was invited to, but I can't go and I hate it" I said depressed and pissed at the same time.

"I don't know, party sounds fun, what do you think boys?" he said looking at his other two partners.
