By the time came for the Rinehart family to arrive, I was nearly crawling out of my skin, I had felt so bad about how I had left things with Logan that it was driving me crazy, it didn't help that he kept trying to contact me and it got a point that my father threatened to cut my cell phone off.
I watched as they arrived waiting with my family at the bottom of the stairs to our house, where they would be staying until the wedding, of course they all arrived in expensive cars.
"Stand straighter" my mom said into my ear as they pulled to a stop in front of us.
I hated being all dressed up, but seeing as I was going to be the future queen of my people I supposed I had to endure certain things.
But I wasn't expecting Carter to be as hot as he was, he looked like he could be model with his sharp jawline and tall frame with just enough muscle, luckily his hair wasn't as blonde as it was the first time I saw him.
"Marissa, it's so good to see you again" Queen Margaret said as soon as she saw my mom.
They shook hands.
"You too, your majesty" my mother said.
"Eric, it's nice to see you've done a job with Thalia" King William said eyeing me like he was buying a stallion or something.
"Thank you, your majesty, it wasn't easy" my father said.
A platinum blonde girl got out of the same car that Carter was in, only she was in a dress that left little to the imagination, she walked up to Carter but she didn't touch him but I could smell their scents on each other.
"It's nice to see you again" Carter said approaching me after greeting my parents.
"Nice to see you too" I said giving him my hand which he kissed.
The celebrations starting tonight were going to be held in a tent that was beautifully decorated by my mother, who had worked tirelessly to get everything ready for today and the week to come.
We were going to have our first dinner together under a nearly full moon, by the time of the wedding day it will be full.
The party was a bore for me and Carter paid more attention to his friends and lady friend then trying to get to know me, but I didn't really care because even if he looked good, he wasn't the one I was thinking about.
It was all getting a little stuffy in the tent, so I headed outside for some fresh air, to normal humans it would be too cold outside without a bunch of layers, but to me it was alright.
I kept thinking about how Logan's face looked when I left him by the water that day, it will stay with me for a long time.
Then I heard a rustling from the bushes, security was making rounds but they weren't everywhere, I was just about to call for them when I got the distinct human scent, Logan stepped out of the bushes.
"What the hell are you doing here? How did you find this place?" I said pushing back towards the bushes.
"It wasn't easy, some people are afraid to give up the information, look Thalia I know I should've given you a good reason to come with me, look I've loved you since we met in seventh grade. I'll never forget the moment I realized it either, I was just talking to my friends and you were talking to yours and there was this moment our eyes met and it's like the whole world melted away and it was just you and me, if you come to L.A. with me, I promise I'll always look out for you" he said.
He had never told me that before but I do remember the moment he was talking about, but I never had the luxury of choosing my future, it hurt me so much to have to tell him but I knew I had to.
