"OH DUDE!" Cried Jade who then jumped up onto the stage beside Gabriel. "Does he have a thing for you or something?"
"I'm not sure, I told him I liked him and it's just been really awkward." Replied Gabriel.
"Well there's no way in hell that it wouldn't be awkward I mean..like you just told him? Out of no where?"
He thought for a moment. Jade was right, this was his fault. Why had he decided to tell him? Why then?
He probably hates you now. He probably thinks your super weird now.
Jade snapped in front of Gabriel to bring him back to reality. "Well?" She said, eagerly awaiting a response.
"Yeah. I did. Man, I'm so stupid." He looked down. Jade giggled. "Hey, you said it, not me."Rehearsal passed and the sun set. As Alba locked the doors, everyone made their way to the front of the school to wait for their rides in the darkness. Simon, who usually picked up Gabriel, was not here today. He was home, sick. Gabriel sat at the concrete stairs and one by one the members of his theatre group started to disappear. The cold flew in with a gust of wind and Gabriel held himself in his jacket as the cold wind blew.
It was only him now, until he heard the doors behind him open and shut. "Hey." Said Armando, who sat next to Gabriel on stairs.
"Hey." Replied Gabriel. He knew things were awkward and he blamed himself. In fact, Gabriel blamed himself for a lot of things."Um...I know stuff is a little awkward between us right now. Sorry, that's partially my fault. But Gabe, I can tell your stressed." Armando scooted closer. " I just want you to know that no matter how awkward things are or if you move or I move...I want you to know I got your back. If you EVER need someone to talk to, I'm here."
Gabriel looked at him and smiled. Armando smiled back. A moment stopped between them. The both looked at each other and--
A car horn was honked from the street ahead. They both awkwardly laughed as Gabriel got up to meet his ride at the road."See you tomorrow!" Yelled Armando from the steps.
What did that mean? That silence...if Simon wasn't there what would have happened? Gabriel is a really good guy...oh man...do I like him?
