I groaned as Krystal followed me into the Charred Frein. My sword was sheathed in the scabbard on my back, Krystal's magic staff was still in her hand, but she was using it at this point for a walking stick. I threw up my arms in protest, with a flimsy, bright pink sheet of fabric in my right hand.
"Thirteen straight hours of grinding, and I get nothing but krex and this stupid handkerchief!" I screamed, falling into a wooden chair in the far side on the room, slamming the handkerchief on the table.
"Hey, at least ya got a decent amount of krex." She added, attempting to make me feel better about all my wasted time. Her and I had an off day every Thursday, so we spent pretty much the entire day farming. We had to if we were going to make it to the maximum level by the end of the year.
"That'd mean something if we didn't already have millions upon millions of krex."
"Well hey, we managed to level up didn't we?" she asked.
I sighed. "Yeah, but still... none of my skills only take one point to level. I'd have to level up again before upgrading a skill." I stretched out the handkerchief in my hands and leaned back in my chair. It wasn't totally worthless, but I couldn't sell it even if I tried since it was linked to some kind of questline that I hadn't even heard of, this was the primary reason I was mad in the first place. It was too late to start that quest now, but tomorrow we'd have time to do this quest. I'd just have to find where it was and how to start it.
Krystal and I slowly rifled through our inventory and quest logs before looking at each other. "How's your summoning magic coming along?" I asked her, leaning forward, propping myself on the table.
Krystal fixed her hair and looked at me. "It's comin along okay... I'm just now gettin ta Ethereal Meso, so it's nothin of serious use yet."
I nodded my head. "So you can summon little pixies and stuff?" I said with a pit of a laughing tone.
"Like I said, it's not useful yet."
"So you can basically just send pixies after people to piss em off?"
Krystal became annoyed as she rolled her eyes. "Like I said... it ain't really useful yet."
"Are you kidding me?" I said to her. "Imagine how much we could troll the freshmen!"
"We're not gonna go around screwin with those noobs, we don't have time!" Krystal snapped.
"Just throwing that idea up there, we gotta have a little fun you know."
She just rolled her eyes and ignored me. I got up from table in her moment of ignorance and bought us some drinks from the bartender. Clearly I had set Krystal off, so I bought her something nice. Her favorite drink, an Itland Pint, which was basically a massive pint of whiskey IRL. I just got myself a usual tankard and set the drinks on the table. The massive container of liquid broke Krystal from her trance and she looked at me.
"One last drink before getting off." I said, sitting back down in the chair and taking some sips from my tankard. Krystal smiled and thanked me before drinking from her own massive cup. "You wanting to try and find the quest connected to this thing tomorrow?" I asked her. She slammed down the massive cup of alcohol, half of it already gone, and revealed her reddish face. Is she already drunk? I thought, holding back a laugh, followed with a shake of my head. She's always gotten unlucky with those RNG drunkenness systems. Then again... drinking half a pint of straight alcohol within a matter of seconds would make just about anyone drunk.
