Evelyn's pov
I woke up to the sound of a low, baritone voice echoing through the radio.
'Wait. Radio?' I quickly sat up and looked around realizing I was in a truck. ' How'd I get here?' I glanced over at the driver's seat and saw it was empty. ' Oh... never mind.' I was then snapped out of my thoughts when the low voice spoke again.
"Ironhide, do you copy?" The voice asked.
"I'm here Prime." He responded, lifting the seat that I was laying on.
"Good. Head back to base. I'll give you the coordinates." He said then everything went quiet.
After a few minutes, I was sure that whoever 'Hide was talking to left and that he was just ignoring me now. I looked out the window next to me and sighed causing Ironhide to swerve slightly.
"Don't do that!" He yelled. I looked at the dashboard confused and shrugged it off as nothing. I turned back towards the window and sighed again. "Evelyn!" He shouted again.
"What?" I asked softly, sinking into the seat. 'What did I do?' I thought to myself. 'Did I do something wrong? Will he take me back to Harry?' As my mind was racing a million miles per hour, I didn't hear 'Hide talking to me. I couldn't. I was too focused on what Harry would do to me,if 'Hide took me back, to realize that I had stopped breathing, that I blocked all noise around me until everything went black.
Ironhide's pov
I instantly regretted yelling at Evelyn as she sunk lower into my seat and tears, as I learned what the fluid leaking from the humans eyes, were running down her cheeks.
"Evelyn?" I said softly not wanting to scare her anymore than I possibly have. "Evelyn?" I said again with a little more concern in my voice as her skin started to pale. Her eyes looked distant and started to droop until she closed them completely. 'She just woke up from recharge not that long ago. She shouldn't be tired.' I thought to myself and started panicking. I turned my comm link back on and tried to reach Ratchet. 'Damn. What is this femme doing to me?'
I picked up more speed and headed towards the coordinates Optimus gave me, hoping that Ratchet was there. I was about to turn my comm off again when I heard Ratchet's voice come through.
"Ironhide? This better be important." He stated, waiting for a response.
"Sorry doc, but I have a young femme with me and she fell asleep." I said in a rush. I heard him chuckle and I growled back at him.
"Humans need more sleep than us Ironhide, so if you'll..."
"Ratchet, she just woke up!" I yelled, interrupting him mid sentence. He went quiet for about a minute before speaking again.
"Bring her to base. I'll check her out." He said then left. I glanced over at her and saw that she was, as humans say, 'out cold'. ' We'll be at base soon Evelyn.' I checked the coordinates again and confirmed that we'd be at base in 2 earth hours. 'All because her breath kept tickling me. She's gonna hate me now.' The thought of her hating me made my spark ache and helm flood with thoughts about losing her.
I quickly pulled over, clearing the thought from my processors and sighed. I activated my holoform next to her and gently put my servo...er hand, onto her neck feeling for a pulse. Once I found it I relaxed into my seat a little and stared at her. 'She needs someone to protect her.' I thought deactivating my holoform and started driving again towards Diego Garcia. 'And I shall be the one to protect her until my last sparkbeat.'
________________________When we arrived at base, I quickly transformed, holding Evelyn securely in my servo. I raced through the halls, getting angry glares from the soldiers that had to dive out of the way. I ignored them and continued to run to the med bay, glancing down at my servo every once and a while.
I arrived at the med bay and was instantly met with a wrench to the helm.
"Ow!" I looked up at Ratchet and saw him glaring at me.
"I heard you all the way from here you big oaf! You better not have stepped on anybody 'cause I'll have to be the one to deal with it." I waved my hand at him dismissively as I walked over to the berth in the corner of the room. I sat Evelyn down carefully and watched as Ratchet activated his holoform near her, checking her vital signs.
After 15 minutes of waiting, I got impatient and started activating then deactivating my cannons over and over again. Ratchet then came over to me and rested a hand on my shoulder.
"It looks like she just passed out from stress." He said and smiled as I relaxed my tensed circuits. "I haven't seen you this worried about someone in a while." He stated walking over to his working table. "She must be important." I watched him as he fiddled with his tools and sighed.
'Why am I worried about her?' I thought looking over towards her resting figure. 'Because she reminds me of...me.' I realized and walked over to her.
"Don't lose her." I heard Ratchet say before his ped steps faded. I looked behind me and sure enough, he was gone. I looked back at Evelyn and stroked her tear stained face gently, smiling at how her face lit up with a grin at my touch.
'I don't plan to lose her. Ever.'
