EMMETT
I shouldn't have left her. She was right, a lot can happen in just one month. She was happy and smiling yesterday, and now look at her, dead and emotionless.
"She'll be fine, Emmett."
"She shouldn't be this still." I state.
"It's the morphine." Rosalie says. "You need to hunt."
"Not until she wakes up." I say.
"You need to be at your strongest for her." She places a hand on my shoulder. "You never know, she might be stronger than you even at your strongest."
"And if I'm not here when she wakes up none of you will be strong enough to do anything." I retort.
"Carlisle said she won't wake up until tomorrow. "
"Then I'll wait until tomorrow." I grumble.
"Emmett, she's going to need you." She continues.
"I'll go, but if anything happens-"
"We'll call."

ALLISON
I look around slightly and push myself up a little higher. I cover my mouth with one hand to make my breathing quieter. Another twig snaps and leaves rustle. I squeeze my eyes shut and shake my head slightly. I hear leaves crunch and my breath hitches.
"Wait! I think someone's out here." Someone says in a hushed tone. I open my eyes and keep a hand over my mouth.
"Or maybe it's an animal muscles for brains." Someone snaps back.
"Nope, definitely human." Another chimes.
"Rosalie, take Jasper back." Rosalie? Jasper? Oh, god.
"You see anyone?" A voice asks.
"No, but I can smell someone." The first voice replies.
"Allison? Is that you?" One of the others asks. I clench my jaw. "Carlisle, she's hurt. She goes to school with us."
"Allison, we can help you if you're hurt. It's me, Alice. We're lab partners." Alice, great. "Are you okay? Why are you out here? Especially this late." I could ask all of you the same. "Allison?" I hear footsteps nearing me and move my hand away from my mouth and take the hand off of the limb.
"We can help you Allison." I cross my arms and the footsteps get closer.
"I don't need help." I state as they round the tree.
"Why are you out here so late?" Alice asks.
"I could ask the same of you." I retort.
"You know I'm surprised how you're even standing, let alone you were running. Two broken ribs is a lot of pain, running with two broken ribs is a lot worse." I manage to make out Edward and Emmett, but it was Edward who spoke.
"I do it all of the time." I say glancing at the ground. "I'm practically numbed to the pain anyways. After so long you stop feeling it."
"Why haven't you told anyone?" Edward asks.
"What do you mean?" I question.
"About your dad." He clarifies.
"What do you know?" I ask gripping the limb again.
"All of it." He replies.
"How?" I watch him carefully. He glances at Dr. Cullen who nods a reply.
