~ Annabelle's P.O.V ~

I kept trying to calm my breathing, but the tears wouldn't stop. No matter what I did, I couldn't stop thinking about him.

His eyes.
His lips.
His laugh.
His smile.

His whole being, just wouldn't get out of my brain. Every time he popped up in my head, I clutched the chain around my neck tighter.

I walked back into the apartment Ethan and I shared. I lent my back against the closed door and drew in a shaky breath.

My back slid down and my knees bent up to my chest. My eyes shut and the tears rolled down my cheeks silently.

I reached into my pocket, remembering the box he gave me. The box was a silver grey with a black bow.

I gently pulled the bow off and opened the box to find the most elegant infinity necklace. Just underneath the chain, laid a small, handwritten note.

"My Belle,

My light to this dark world.

My happiness in this sad place.

The only one who can make me feel this way.

You don't know how much you mean to me.

I will never regret the day I saved you, because I saved the angel that was destined to be my other half.

Love always,

your Ekat"

Happy tears strolled down my cheeks and my hand slapped to my mouth.

God, it hasn't even and hour and I already miss him like crazy.

I gently lifted the necklace out of the box and clasped it around my neck with shaky fingers.

I took a deep breath, and slowly lifted myself off the floor. I walked out if the living room and into my room. It was about 10 o'clock, and all I wanted was to sleep.

I snuggled into my sheets and closed my eyes.

Two hours and several positions later, I still couldn't sleep. I laid on my back and sighed.

"Fuck it." I whispered to myself.

I got out of bed and walked out of my room to the adjacent door in front of me. I placed my hand on the handle and let out a small, quiet chuckle.

For the past couple of months in the middle of the night, I would walk into E's room and climb in next to him, while he woke up for only a few moments to wrap his arms around me and make me feel safe.

I grabbed the sweatshirt he changed out of this morning that laid on his bed and put it on. I inhaled his sent and smiled contently.

I dove onto his bed and snuggled up in his sheets.

A few hours later, I woke up to the phone blaring.

I groaned softly. I knew it wasn't going to be Ethan, his plane didn't land for another hour or so. I sat up in bed and grabbed the apartment phone on his bedside table. Without really checking the caller ID, I answered.

"Hello?" I answered, groggily.

"Hello, I am sorry to call at this time, but is the Annabelle Smith?" said the lady on the other end.

"Yes...this is she..." I was confused. Who is this and why is she calling the apartment at almost six in the morning?

"I'm calling to ask if you knew someone on Flight 301 to Miami."

"Yes, I do..." I answered becoming more awake now.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but that flight was just called in missing. It never sent in the last check in."

"W-What?"

"I'm sorry ma'am, the copters are up looking for it as we speak-"

I dropped the phone. Ethan's plane was missing.

Ethan was missing.

"Where is he, Emily? Where is that plane?" I asked her softly, my voice breaking.

"I don't know, Anna. I don't know."

"He could be anywhere in the U.S. for all we know, Em. He could be in the state over or on the other side of the country..." My voice didn't go over a whisper.

My Ethan was out there somewhere, just no one knew where and my heart was breaking.

"Hey, I know I said shopping, but how about we just have a night in? We can watch chick-flicks?" She said.

I nodded my head and unwrapped my myself from my best friend's embrace. I snuggled into the couch and closed my eyes.

Where the hell are you Ethan?
