"This is so exciting! I know for sure that you'll win." Taylor grinned at Selena. It was the 2018 Grammys, and Selena was nominated for Best Pop Album and Song of the Year. Taylor, however, was nominated for Best Country Album, Best Music Video and Album of the Year. Beyoncé had just performed, and now they were waiting to hear an announcement.
"What do you think the announcement's about?" Taylor asked. She was curious, they hadn't been told about this beforehand. Selena shrugged.
"I don't know, maybe Kanye's finally running for president like he said he would." Selena laughed and Taylor grinned at her. They both knew that was extremely unlikely. For all his talk about running for president, did Kanye really know anything about politics? He was just a musician, not a politician. But, then again, Donald Trump was just a businessman and he was the current president.
Selena poked Taylor's shoulder. "Look, the announcement is starting." Taylor looked up at the stage. To her surprise, it was Kanye walking up. Was he really doing this?
"Yo!" Kanye spoke into the mike. There were cheers and boos. "So, I've been thinking. You know how I said I was gonna run for president?" More cheers. Taylor and Selena were silent. "Well, it's happening! My campaign starts today. Spread #KanyeForPresident everywhere!" Taylor was surprised. She didn't think he had the guts to do it. Knowing the cameras were on her and Selena, she plastered a pleasant smile on. In her mind, she was screaming. He can't actually make it past the primaries...can he?
