The group was sitting at Topanga's bored out their minds. Maya was the most bored. She almos had tears in her eyes. Maya was laying her head on Lucas's lap.
"You know what we should do?!" Riley said excited.
"Get a tattoo?!" Maya inquired hopefully.
"NO!" Everyone yelled.
"We should research our family trees!"Riley exclaimed
"Oh Hell No." Maya responded.
"We are doing it." Riley said not caring what Maya thought.
Maya left obviously upset.
"I can't believe she got that upset over not getting what she wanted." Farkle said.
"It's not that. It's that she doesn't have a family. We need to be there for her." Zay said annoyed at Riley and Farkle.
"I agree with Zay." Lucas said breaking the silence.
Lucas and Zay went to go find Maya.
They found her on a street bench just dazing out into the view in front of her.
Lucas sat on one side of her and Zay sat on the other.
Maya didn't even notice them.
"Hey Maya."Lucas said breaking her out of her daze.
"What do you two want?" Maya was clearly not in the mood to talk.
"Maya don't be upset. You said you always thought of me as a brother. You don't have to be blood to be family. So in some sort, were brother and sister." Zay said.
Maya kind of smiled. Then she hugged Zay.
"Thanks." Maya said sincerely to Zay.
"You gonna make me feel better?" Maya teased to Lucas.
"I'm just here for support." Lucas said with a chuckle.
Maya leaned against Lucas's side and layed her head on his shoulder.
"Thanks." Maya said to Lucas.
"I'm gonna leave you two lovebirds alone." Zay said.
The two of them sat there for a while.
At Topanga's:
Riley and Farkle had found out some information about their family tree with the help of their families.
"I found out that my grandmother Rosie named my Mom Topanga because it means something you want to love. Pretty sweet isn't it Farkle?"
"Yeah." Farkle said.
"You know it's kind of crazy that we are here only because of the generations before us." Riley said.
After Riley, Farkle and Zay did the project:
Farkle,Riley, and Zay were all standing at the front of Mr. Matthews' History classroom.
"So Zay, tell us what you found out about your family history." Mr. Matthews said.
"I don't have a lot of family. Only a dad. But I discovered that just because you aren't blood doesn't mean you aren't family." Zay said while giving Maya a smile.
Maya smiled back.
