this hasn't been edited. and it's a falling ending, somewhat of a cliffhanger (not really) because of the darling writer's block. thank you for reading!
Chapter Four-
It had been a week. A week. A week since Mallory had emerged from her bedroom, since she’d last talked to Ross, and since she’d talked to her parents. Mallory, seated on her window seat had taken the time to carefully braid her long brown hair.
Snow falls lightly down to the grass and Mallory stares outside longingly. Pulling her legs closer to her chest, she clasps her hands together and leans her chin on her hands.
“Mallory, your father and I are going to the court house. Don’t wait up, we’ll be home pretty late.”
Mallory blinks in response.
“You’d better be in bed when I get home.”
“okay.”
Her mother closes her bedroom door and Mallory stands, walking to her bed. She grabs her cell phone, checks the time and tosses it back down.
“Oh fuck it.”

“Flight forty two, departing in twenty minutes.”
Mallory pulls her phone from the pocket of her jean capris. She dials her mom’s cell phone number and frowns, “Hey mom, I’m sorry I left without letting you know but since winter break was starting next week I could afford a few days off school. I already called aunt Loraine and she ordered me a ticket. I’m going to call when I get to florida.” Mallory Sighs, “look, mom. I’m sorry but I need to get away for a little. And going to florida is what I need. So, bye.”
Mallory pulls her bag onto her shoulder and steps towards the check in counter. “Hi Sweetie, are you ready to board?”
“Yes Ma’am.” Mallory hands, “here you go.” She hands the attendant her pass and paperwork and smiles.
“Mallory. What a beautiful name.”
“Thank you.”
“Have a great flight Honey, I hope you have fun in Florida.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Bye now sweetie.”
“Goodbye.”
Minutes later, Mallory’s seated in her plane seat between a smelly overweight man and a sweet old lady. The plane takes off and three hours later, she’s landing in Orlando Florida.

“Ross, where are you going?”
“I’m tired of waiting for Mallory to emerge. I’m going over there to get her out of that stupid room.”
“Ross, it’s almost midnight, you can’t just waltz over there and go inside.”
“I don’t care, I’m going over.”
Ross pushes passed his mother and runs out the front door. He crosses the proptery line and rushes to Mallory’s front door. before stepping inside, he looks over his shoulder to Mallory’s mom’s car in the driveway.
The door pulls open in a flash. “I don’t understand why she would just leave!!”
“Tom, calm down. I’m going to try to call her!”
“But she’s probably already on the-“ Mallory’s dad looks up at Ross.
Smiling awkwardly, Ross peers through his eyelashes at his best friends father. “Hey Mr. Thomas.”
