VTRX-47K
ASTRONOMICAL OVERVIEW VTRX-47K; otherwise known as Vextrae, is a planet approximately 1.395 times the size of the Earth. Located in the Andromeda galaxy, the planet orbits a blue giant. Appropriately named "Bol'shoy Siniy," the massive star's title translates from Russian to "Big Blue." About 147 million kilometres from its star, Vextrae's orbit takes approximately 1.5 Earth years to complete, with each full planetary rotation consisting of eighteen hours. However, Bol'shoy Siniy is not the only star this planet sees on a daily basis. A smaller star- a red dwarf, can be spotted in the sky later on during the day. Carrying the name "Rebenok Solntse," Russian for "Baby Sun," the red dwarf orbits Bol'shoy at a 126.2 million kilometre distance. Its orbit is consistently 29 million kilometres ahead of Vextrae's and can be seen best in the evening, emitting a low red glow on its surface as the planet makes its rotation. During the night time hours, a larger, Saturn-like planet titled YVN-6 consisting of the colours blue, yellow, and indigo can be seen looming over the horizon. YVN-6 is only twice the size of VTRX-47K and does possess a gravitational pull strong enough to take hold of its neighbour. A total of three moons orbit the planet of Vextrae's, all of which can be seen during day or night, no depending on the location of their orbits around it. In addition, the neighbouring planet YVN-6 holds seven moons located around the exterior of its rings. These moons can also be spotted from Vextrae based on their orbital position at the time.
ENVIRONMENT Due to its position in space relative to its star, VTRX-47K is a fairly warm, yet still very inhabitable planet covered with sturdy land and beautiful blue oceans. Its atmosphere is almost exact to that of Earth, with just trace differences. The winter months tend to be a very comfortable level of heat, while the summer months can be quite hostile in temperature. What comes with the extreme heat this world has to offer includes a variety of intense storms which can happen as often as every week or two or as occasional as once per for to six months. The average global temperature for VTRX-47K is approximately 23°C with temperatures that rarely dip below 7°C. Plant life has adapted to be able to handle its environment's high temperatures and massive storms, and display many similarities to tropical plant life on Earth. Many of both plant and animal life produce their own bioluminescent light which reduces the need for city-wide electrical lighting fixtures. These light sources allow animals to wander freely at night and the many carnivorous plants to attract prey.
GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMY Ever since the first war broke out in Verisket in 02-0138, government positions in itself, as well as its many neighbours, became unstable. One of Veriskets closest neighbouring regions, Deland was hit the hardest following Verisket itself. For the next twenty years, the conflict within Verisket was a constant on and off ordeal which furthered the destruction of all government structure. As Verisket and it's surrounding regions purged their finances into funding their own defence weapons, many of their economies came to a screeching halt. While Deland was able to avoid this blunder at first, it wasn't until late 02-0160 where their economy really started to fall apart. An atom bomb struck right at Veriskets, Nalias, and Deland's connecting borders, and then another just within the Deland border. The explosion completely obliterated all of the bordering cities on that side of the Deland region, including RYS, RHS, GNS, CNS, and YYC. However, some of Delands slightly more inner cities were still affected. The southwestern section of Delands GYK area was absolutely demolished, leaving about half of the city's centre in a radiation-filled rubble. In turn, the Deland region spent a lot of its remaining funds on rebuilding its damaged areas and relocating those that were completely wiped out to safer land away from its borders. By the end of the rebuilding projects, structure had almost completely diminished. In the present time, there is still a government presence, however, it is so insignificant citizens are majorly unaware of it and laws are unenforceable.
SOCIAL The social structure of civilization on VTRX-47K and the way people interact are anything but limited. There is a number of different races (or species), all of which can intermingle and socialize, even reproduce with each other. However, it is quite common for members of different species to segregate themselves, though some more than others. Those of mixed blood tend to be looked down on by others and are thought of as less desirable as they aren't a full bred member of any one species. Because of this, mixed races will tend to stick together and may attempt to avoid full breds. Ever since the war first arose between Verisket and its neighbours along with the government shutdowns all across the nation, travel has become a very rare occurrence, and people will only leave their area if they absolutely must. Citizens can only really travel as far as they can take themselves, either by foot or by cycle. Due to the government shutdowns, laws that were initially put in place to ensure safety to society have been pushed aside and ignored by the vast majority.
THE WAR ON VERISKET Being the central region of the Yem nation, Verisket had been the region that held the most power, holding power over its fellow regions as well. However, over the course of hundreds of years, the head positions held in Veriskets government became more and more corrupt as new commanders replaced old ones. While this did affect the way Verisket ran itself, the growing corruption within Veriskets positions of power caused more damage to the regions surrounding it. Blame for issues, whether within or outside Verisket were constantly put on the other regions, and the government workings slowly grew into more of a totalitarian dictatorship. During its final years before the revolutionary war began, the regions surrounding Verisket spent time plotting with each other in secret, planning to overthrow their own government officials before invading Veriskets borders from all directions. While these plans were being devised by the other regions, Verisket was executing its own plans. Almost as if a war was already being anticipated, Veriskets government officials were gathering as many people as they could to throw into their military, spending billions of dollars on the development of explosives and other military grade weapons. All of the funds used for the militarization of Verisket were taxed from the regions under Veriskets ruling and poised together until the monetary goal was met and the project was possible. Alongside the building of weapons of mass description, Veriskets military sent out spies into the other regions to collect information from their higher-ups and to keep them under control. It wasn't until 02-0138 when the regions under the rule by of Verisket banded together, did the invasion of Veriskets borders finally take place. However, the central region of the Yem nation was already one step ahead of the rest, blocking off all of its borders and heavily guarding them with the toughest military weaponry they had. This was just the beginning of the Great Yem Revolution. Over the course of twenty years, the regions of Yem poured their finances into securing their borders and militarizing their governments and their people. The region of Deland was able to keep itself financially afloat for the most part compared to the others. However, when the tail end of 02-0160 came around, an atomic bomb was dropped on the border connecting Nalia, Deland, and Verisket by one of the other regions. This attack was followed by another atom bomb sent by Verisket which detonated within Deland's border, destroying its outermost cities and seriously affecting many of its other, more inner areas. The perpetrator of the first attack was never found out. Ever since this pair of bombings, the innermost sections of Verisket have been a hot zone for military activity as the other regions attempted to keep the conflict within Veriskets borders and away from their own land masses.
