Gabriel POV

"No Raiyne!" I heard Matt yell as I watched him jump off the edge of the pier, into the threatening white crested waves.

I bolted down the pier, and stood on the edge as I watched him resurface, pulling a limp Raiyne with him onto the beach as I hauled myself over the edge and beside her drenched body. I checked her pulse quickly, and there wasn't one.

"Matt, she can't die." I panicked, beginning chest compressions.

"She's gonna be pissed when she sees you." Matt replied, coughing out gulps of water.

Raiyne's body shuddered and then she began to cough, hard, water spewing from her mouth as she sat up, her blue eyes glassy.

"You weren't supposed to save me." Raiyne spat at Matt. "And you, I know what I did was bad, but you know about the hitting." Raiyne growled my way. "Now let me fucking die."

"Raiyne, I-" I started.

"No! I know it hurts ok, but that wasn't ok." She yelled. "I know that I'm an asshole, and a bitch, and a slut, but that was way too far!"

She shoved me hard so I landed on my back, the sand somewhat cushioning my fall, then she kicked the sand angrily.

"Raiyne, yes I'm mad, I want to hate you so badly but I can't." I argued, grabbing her wrist.

"Hate me Gabriel, hate me with every fibre of your being. Hate me because I hurt you, hate me because I can't stop thinking about you. Hate me because I hate myself, hate me because I'm not worth it." Raiyne spat, back pedalling down the beach. "Hate me because I will always fucking love you, no matter how badly it hurts me to look in those baby blue eyes and feel wanted."

Her words were filled with anger and venom, her body lethal as she stood with the now rage full wind whipping her hair around her face. The black skies and black waters added to the danger seeping through her bones and settling into those blue-black storm cloud eyes.

I was frozen with rage and hurt, my heart was a rock in my chest and my breathing was ragged as all I wanted to do was hold her and tell her everything was going to be ok. I also wanted to go back to the hotel and rip Nathan's head from his body, I wanted to strip Raiyne down until she screamed my name while her finger nails made scratches down my back. I wanted her, but I wanted to kill Nathan just as badly as I stood up.

"I do hate you. I hate how you have me so wrapped around your fucking finger that even now I want to rip your clothes off. I hate how you could drive me so far over the edge that I want to kill my own team mate. I hate that even as mad as you are you are still sexy as hell. I hate how can do the simplest things that drive me crazy. And most of all I hate that no matter how hard I try I will always love you." I growled. "I hate myself for wanting you, loving you, needing you. I hate you, but I love you. So deal with it."

Raiyne ran angry hands through her hair, spinning on her heel and taking angry steps down the beach until she disappeared around a corner.

"This is so fucked up." Matt commented and I slammed my hand into the nearest thing I could find.

"I hate her." I stated coldly.

"You love her Gabe." Matt corrected.

"Loving someone shouldn't make you hate yourself." I growled.

"No one said it was easy."

Raiyne POV

I got my own hotel room and slipped into it silently, I was able to sneak my bag so I tossed it onto the double bed closest to the window, then stripped out of the salt water clothes, and locked the door before running the shower.

--

My phone was blaring, not stop ringing and buzzing as I ripped it from the bedside table and pressed it to my ear.

"Hello?" I asked groggily.

"We have practise." Tyson said from the other side.

"Shit, I still have to come to that?" I asked appalled.

"Yup, see ya soon." He laughed.

--

I squared my shoulders and turned the volume louder in my ears as I shouldered my way through the door, I ignored the guys and immediately stripped from my clothes, pulling on all my gear. I finally had to rip my headphones out and put them away as I snapped my helmet, finally realizing there weren't that many guys.

"Fuck, optional skate." I growled.

Gabriel flashed a smirked, and Tyson laughed then grabbed his bag and walked out the door.

"Ass." I whispered.

I followed Gabe out to the ice and picked up a puck, flicking it around with my stick before shooting it a little harder than normal at the net, only to be laid out against the boards. I glared at him and got up skating forwards as he skated backwards, then I stopped and stood frozen in the middle of the rink.

"Come on, don't hold back now." I stated.

He skated so we were inches apart, then cross checked me. I glided back slightly and then he did it again, then he hovered over me, his ice blue eyes glaring at me. I was now pressed against the boards and he flicked off his gloves.

"How about we play a game?" He smirked.

"What type of game?" I asked.

"More like, you can't say a word if you like what I'm doing." He replied, his arms landing on either side of me.

I raised a brow and he pressed his body against me, one hand pulling my jersey over my head, and the other brushing a thumb over my cheek.

"Gabriel." I warned.

He shook his head and then pressed his lips to mine. This kiss wasn't like the others, he wanted me more than before. I could tell by the way he slipped my pads over my head and ran his hands up my sides, trailing his lips down my neck and across my chest before pulling me closer and lifting me so he could bring the both of us into the dressing room.

I ripped his jersey over his head and tossed his pads aside, kicking off my skates and wrapping my legs around his waist as he connected his lips with mine. He slammed me into a wall and my breath rushed out of my lungs with an 'oof' before I kicked my shorts and shin pads off.

"Guys focus!" I heard someone yell and I jumped.

Gabe slammed his hand into the wall and I burst into laughter, the door handle jiggled and I put my face in his shoulder to stop my laughter.

"One minute!" Gabe yelled and looked at me, his mouth tilting into a smile. "Knock it off."

I pressed him back and then scooped my gear before tossing it all at my cubby, Gabe had swung the door open and Tyson, Jamie and Ryan stood on the other side.

"Ehh." I mumbled, searching my bag for my shorts.

I finally found them and pulled them on, not bothering to do them up yet as I slipped my arms through a light flannel t-shirt, brushing through my hair and throwing it up.

"Can't you keep your clothes done up?" Nathan smirked walking into the room and tugging on the bottom corner of my shirt.

I spun with it and slammed him into the wall, his teeth clattering together as a huge gust of air left his lungs.

"Screw off MacKinnon." I growled, snatching my hat and slipping my ponytail through it.

"Screw me Spears." He taunted.
