Do you want anything from the store Ari?" Asked Connel.
It has been a month since That horrible night with my father. After that night I have lived with the six guys who found me. They treat me like the little sister that they never had. They were always very worried about me and in all honesty they should be. After they took me away, I was a little out of it. I would break down at random moments, causing them to immediately ask me what was wrong. I was also scared of them at first but I was easing out of that. These boys would jump up in the middle of the night if I so much as moaned in my sleep. And for some strange reason, I loved them for it.
"No thanks, Connel. I think that I might go with you though, if that's alright with you?" I said.
"Of course it is. I'll be leaving in about five minutes so you might want to go get dressed." He warned.
I blushed. While living with them I figured some things out. First of all is that these boys are werwolves and probably the leaders of the strongest pack in the world. They were all brothers by blood. The oldest was Connel who was the most protective of me. Then there were the twins Larson and Ryan, who were my second favorite under Connel. After them came Levi who was quiet but caring. Then came the last twins Jesse and Kale the ones who were the most entertaining. They were all older than me by at least a year. Connel was 22, Larson and Ryan were 20, Levi was 18, And Jesse and Kale were 17.It helped that they were all different ages because then I could go to any one of them if I had a problem and while one didn't understand another did.
I had changed into a white tank top and shorts and was downstairs in three minutes. I was waiting for Connel when I was suddenly attacked by Jesse and Kale. Both of them toppled down on top of me but were careful not to let me hit the floor too hard and to not put all of their weight on me. I let out a terrified shriek as I went down. Connel burst into the room. His eyes scanned the room before landing on me and the boys on the floor. He shook his head as he pulled the boys off of me and pulled me up and into his chest. I cowered into it as he scolded the boys for scaring me. After he was done with his little rant he pulled me to the garage. I followed him to his car at the very end, a very striking blue Toyota Tacoma. I hopped into the passenger seat and he got into the driver's side. Then we were off to wherever he was taking me.
We stopped at Walmart Target and Kmart. We shopped for food mostly but he also took me to the clothing section and let me shop. I wasn't really sure how to shop or what to look for since my father had never allowed me to go shop leisurely. I felt my cheeks heat up as I asked Connel for help. He simply nodded his head and came over to the racks and picked clothes off of them and handing them to me so that I could try them on. I had to admit, Connel did know how to pick out a girls clothes. In no time at all I walked out of Kmart with a couple of outfits. After much arguing with him I finally agreed to let him pay but I secretly made an oath to pay him back after I had gotten my own money.
We returned home to find all of his brothers sitting in the living room watching T.V. I went to the kitchen to help Connel unload the groceries but he promptly turned me away.
"No you go enjoy yourself out there. I've got this in here and it won't take very long." He urged.
I finally gave up on trying to help and settled for going into the living room and watching T.V with the rest of them. I sat on the floor, unnoticed at first, but then Levi noticed me and got up, gesturing towards the empty seat. I shook my head at him and he raised an eyebrow. Daddy had pounded into me that I was never to disrespect any man and taking their seat was counted as disrespecting; I learned that the hard way. Levi huffed out a big breath and came over to me and I shrank back. He gently picked me up by my arms and I shook with uncontrollable fear. I was afraid of him in that moment, afraid of his obvious strength that outdid mine. I was scared of him beating me until I was broken.
I whimpered and he looked at me questioningly. I mouthed please to him because I knew that if I spoke it out loud I would get beaten worse if I showed any weakness. Levi pulled me into his chest and brought his lips to my ear.
"Aria. You need to calm down. I would never hurt you. I will always protect you against anything. THere is no need to panic." He said soothingly.
I instantly relaxed at the sound of his voice. My breathing went back to normal and my tense back eased up. Levi pulled me along to the couch and sat down pulling me down on his lap. He seemed content so I didn't get up and give him space. Connel walked in at that moment and looked at us, raising his eyebrow. Levi just looked at him in a calm matter and Connel shrugged it off, coming over to sit next to us. He sat and then pulled me off of Levi's lap and into his. He curled me up into his chest and I fell asleep to the sound of his heart beat.
(Dream)
I was walking to the wreak that used to be my house. I was following a strange light. Inside the house it was just as I remembered it when we left. My father's body was perched in the corner. The light that I had been following suddenly disappeared into my father dead and decaying body. He jerked and rose from the floor in a very unnerving manner. he stalked towards me, his lulling off to the side as it had been broken. He came closer and I screamed and ran upstairs to my old room. I closed the door and locked it. Then I turned around and screamed as I face my father's empty eye sockets. I looked behind him and saw the remains of my sister and mother. My father placed his hands on my shoulders and shoved me onto the bed. My mother and sister were standing in the background silently weeping. My father straddled me and pushed the dress that I was wearing higher up my legs. His dead hands were cold on my skin and I screamed.
He put his hand over my mouth and got an angry look in his face.
"Be quiet you horrible traitor. You left me so I am here to get you to deal with the consequences." He said menacingly.
I shrank back into the covers as he pulled out a knife and recreated the wounds that he had made a month ago. My screaming was endless as I cried for my mother and sister to help me. When he was done with body he came up to my face and began to caress it before he plunged the knife deep into my skull and disappeared.
(End Dream)
I bolted up in my bed, screaming at the top of my lungs. The door burst open and All six of the boys charged in. They all scanned the room for danger before coming to me, who was still screaming my head off. Connel reached out and placed his hand on my shoulder then removed it when I flinched. My skin had not healed, really non of my wounds had from the knife and my shoulders were taking the longest, and the skin, muscle, and tendons around my shoulder were still hanging loosly. My body was a wreck. When the doctor assessed my wounds a month ago he had told me that I would always have very prominent scars from the cuts.
The rest of the brothers surrounded my bed and stroked my back, arms or eve my legs in an attempt to calm me down. I had stopped screaming and had resorted to sobbing and repeating over and over again "They're dead and they'll never come back" One of the boys picked me up and brought me to his chest.. I looked up into the eyes of Ryan who looked back down at me with sympathy in his eyes. I buried myself deeper into his chest and son found myself asleep again.
