Chapter 6

"Over here!" he yells back

He looks around the cafeteria and his eyes narrow once they reach Karter's.

"Where have you been?" Hunter asks

"At school."

"We were supposed to go........ there today and who are these people?"

"Oh, sorry I forgot. I thought you said Ross was going with you and these people are my new friends. Hunter meet Jasmine and Ashley."

"Hi, nice to meet you."  Ashley says  

"Hey." I reply

"Hi" he replies coldly

" And Karter" Hunter says

He looks up from his food and looks him eye.

"Ross will never know what we have felt, so you are going with me next time. School or not."

"Okay, sounds good." he replies without looking at him

Hunter spins on his heel and exits the cafeteria.

" Sorry 'bout that. He's been a little tense since....... well that's his place to tell.''

"Oh, okay."

"So about the tour?''

I smile and turn to look at Ashley, which she nods.

"Let's go!"

Karter just laughs and we head out of the cafeteria. We walk the halls and I tell him all the classrooms and teachers. 

"Wow, that's a huge school!"

" I know right." Replies Ashley

"But it's still hell." I added

Ash and Karter laugh.

"True, true." Says Karter.

The shrill of the bell, echoes through out the hallways.

" I guess we'll show you the outside another time. "

"Yep."

"Bye guys." I say while walking towards my locker.

"Bye."

"C ya later."

I open up my locker and grab my text book and other supplies. I head towards my homeroom. Sadly I don't share homeroom with Ashley or Karter but after that, I have ELA with Ash and then gym with Karter. I won't be lonely anymore. I can't believe I made another friend.  I smile to myself.

"I see you dragged another popular person down with you to the bottom."

I turn to see Shelby, sitting in the desk beside me.

" Nope, some people just don't like you."

She just smirks. " I think they just feel bad for you." I mean who just want to be friends with you."

"Are you----"

"Turner!" "Cross." "Would you like to share you conversation to the class."

"No, sir." We both say.

"Now I'm trying to teach and if you continue to talk, detention will be coming your way. Got it?"

I nodded.
He turns back to the board.

RINGGGG

I slowing gather up my stuff and walk out the door. I see Ashley at my locker.

"What's up Ash?"

"What are you doing about tonight?"

"I overheard them a few nights ago, and I think they left yesterday to go to Hawaii, and I don't think they be back for 2 weeks."

She smiles " That's great, hopefully it's true. Text me, if they aren't there I'll come over."

"Sounds good."

"Okay, see ya later."

"Bye."

I run to the bus just as it pulls up.
As I get on the bus, I can't help but feel a pair of eyes on me. I look around and see Hunter staring at me. I walk up to him and say....

"Hey Hunter, why are you staring at me?"

"Hi.... Jasmine? That's your name right?"

"Yep."

"What do you want?"

"You were staring at me, I thought you wanted to talk to me."

"Oh, I was just trying to remember you."

"Oh.".
I feel the bus come to a stop.

"Well this is my stop, see you tomorrow?"

"Maybe, bye."

I shuffle my way to the front of the bus and jog down the steps.

I walk towards my street and to the house. 'I don't see any cars or movement' I think to myself.
I slowly move towards the door, then grab the keys from under the mat.
I unlock it and walk through the door.
