THE COUCH. Yes, I love sleeping on the couch. It's so comfortable and spacious. Not.
Waking up on the floor was definitely not what I had intended on doing. I was sprawled out on the wooden floor boards with a blanket laid on top of me.
I murmured against the cold floor, pushing myself up. I sat there with my eyes closed for a few minutes, sighing.
I checked the time and it was nine thirty-ish. I got up, wondering where everyone was. I checked all the bedrooms but no one was here. I get the place all to myself. I grinned, walking into the kitchen to make some toast.
"We've gone out to get breakfast. We didn't want to wake you... We will bring pancakes! :)" I scrunched up the note that had previously been stuck to the fridge, tossing it into the bin.
I lathered the toast thoroughly, eating it as I went to Scottys room. My bags were being kept there for now, until we found somewhere to put them. I put my toast down, stripping to nothing. I looked for my swimmers, scattering my clothes everywhere. I pulled out my bikini, hoping I'd get a quick swim before they got back. Quickly putting them on, I pushed my bag to the side, after cleaning it up. I finished my toast on the way there, wiping off any bread crumbs. A cool breeze brushed against my bare skin, and I quickly stepped down into the pool. It was cold, but not too cold.
Floating on the top of the water was really relaxing and I definitely enjoyed every minute. I heard a car pull up and talking, as doors were shut. I was pulled from my leisure, and I dove under water. I didn't want them to see me... I was insecure about my body, and I only ever wore my bikini around Quinn or my family. I wasn't skinny like all the other girls you hear about and see. I didn't have the perfect thigh gap. I didn't have a super flat stomach and I sure as hell didn't look like other girls. I wasn't over weight, I was just slightly bigger than other girls.
I kept my head out of the water as I floated around and soon after, the boys walked out. "Hey Dana. We didn't know where you were." Zane informed me, smiling slowly. "We brought pancakes?" Scotty offered. "Thanks."Heath had a cigarette and Zane sat with him. Toddy and Scotty had disappeared inside a few minutes ago, leaving me to swim around for a little longer, under water.
"Cannonball!"
I backed up against the wall as Toddy rose back up to the surface, after this spectacular bomb. I laughed at him, making my way to the edge closest to my towel. Before I could yank myself up, two arms snaked around my waist, pulling me back. "Where you going?" Toddy pouted, pulling me closer to him. My breaths became quick and I tried to act normal. My heart was racing and I was lost for words. His brown eyes, seeping into mine. I hesitated, swallowing. "Oh, I was just.. G-Getting out." I whispered, as his face lowered to around my ear. His breath against my neck sent chills down my spine, but I tried to reign it in. "So soon?" "S-Sorry." He brought his face back up to where I could see it and he smiled. "Okay, talk to you later." I nodded, gulping. I climbed out, as quickly as I could, wrapping my towel around my exposed body. On my way in, my gaze fell on Heath, who looked disappointed and wouldn't stop glaring at Toddy. I took a deep breath.
What just happened?"David, you said you'd visit everyday! Where the hell are you?" I exclaimed into the phone, falling back onto the back of the couch. "Why can't I just come to you?" I groaned, rubbing my forehead and around my eyebrows. "Yep, call you later. Bye..."
"You all good, baby?"
I looked up and saw Heath. He took his hat off, flicked his hair and re-adjusted it. "I'm okay." He sat down and smiled. "What's he done now?"
I made the courageous decision to tell Heath everything. We went to his bedroom and sat on his bed so it was a little more private.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
"No, no it's not."
I only shrugged, before Heath pulled me into a hug. I gasped a bit, resting my head on his chest. I could hear his heart beat, and it was really comforting. "I could sit here all day."
"So could I."We ordered pizza that night and just watched a few movies. Kristen, Scotty's girlfriend came over too, so I got to meet her. It was in Scotty's room, so we tried our hardest to find somewhere to all get comfortable. Kristen and Scotty sat up the top of the bed, while Zane laid across it at the bottom and I sat on the small black couch, in between Toddy and Heath. I rested my head on their shoulders every now and then, because I was getting really tired. I tried to stay awake for as long as I could, because the movie only had a little bit left to go. Toddy wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I melted under his embrace. Heath got up and left a few moments later and the temptation to follow him was high. I spread out a bit more, closing my eyes. I would've fallen asleep, but that was until I got a call I wasn't expecting.
"Hello?" I said, getting up and walking over to the door. I tried to be quiet, because the movie hadn't been paused, but I don't think they were even paying attention to the movie. "What's wrong? Tell me, it's okay." I repeated a few times... It was David and he sounded worried in a way I've never heard before. "David?" I asked, and then he whispered.I dropped my phone.
