Singlet? Check. Wrestling shoes? Check. Headgear? Check. Being nervous? Definite check. I threw everything into my small deep blue duffle and zipped it all up. The smell of cooking bacon filled my room. Ugh. I miss the joys of bacon. Making weight every weekend is harder than it sounds. I threw my bag over my shoulder and made my way down the stairs, throwing my bag down in the foyer. The rest of my family was already downstairs scattered all over the dining area. Mom was in the kitchen, dad was in his chair reading the paper. Jason was sitting in the bay window texting, Aaron was doing stretches by the table.

"Good morning Bailey darling. Are you all packed for your tournament today?" Mom chirped.

"Yeah I suppose," I sigh as I pin a pesky strand of my brown hair back into my braid.

"C'mon Bailey you shouldn't be scared. Its everyones first tournament," Dad chuckled as he put down his paper to look up at me.
Says the one who was state champ in his younger days!

My mom wiped her hands on her light pink apron and put her spatula in the sink. "Jason, can you set the table for me please? Breakfast is ready,"

Jason didn't look up from his phone as he said "Mom I'm busy I can't right now!"

"Jason, right now." Mom snapped.

"Mooom c'mon please! I'm seriously busy!" Jason whined still not looking up.

"Yeah probably sexting Savanna!" Aaron mumbled as he did another figure four.

Mom raised one eyebrow as she stared at Jason.

I laughed a bit too much because mom shot me  an ice cold glare.

"Bailey, would you mind setting the table then?" She questioned without breaking eye contact. I sighed and agreed. The boys always get out of chores somehow.

Half an hour later

"Guys come on I can't be late to the tournament!" I shouted as I slipped on my black Toms. After picking up my duffle bag and slipping my iPhone in my pocket I put my hand on the door knob trying to signal we seriously needed to go if we were going to be on time. Aaron had to go get everything packed in his bag upstairs. He was supposed to pack up his things last night! It was no use to talk to Jason because he had his headphones in on full blast. Great. Sighing I let my duffle hit the marble floor with a small plop. I walked over to the large full body mirror on the other side of the foyer. I studied myself for a moment while feeling my shoulder length braid. I was wearing my usual attire; A tight mint colored zip up hoodie, MissMe's folded at the cuff and toms. I'm about 5'9, pretty tall for a 16 year old.. I have piercing blue eyes and maple colored hair with blonde hi lights. Most will notice I have a lot pretty flawless face. As for popularity I'm pretty average considering I go to a school full of popular people. Some are just naturally more popular than others at Salem High School or for short SHS. With nothing else to do I decide to pull out my phone and give my best friend, Ashley, a call. The second I unlock my phone it starts ringing. The loud sound surprised me as it broke the silence and bounced off the white walls. It was Ashley. I hit the green button and I barely had time to say hello before I had to hold the phone away from my ear. Ashley is a loud yeller.

"Bay! Get to the school now! You're going to be late for the tournament!" she screamed.

"Ashley! My family isn't even ready yet we-"

"Get over here now. Its important." Ashley hissed.

The line disconnected just as Aaron came trotting down the stairs. He nonchalantly ran his fingers through his dark brown hair as I chewed him out for him making us late. I quickly grabbed the car keys off the holder as I burst out the door.

"Aaron! Jason! Leggo!" I shout as I run down the bricked pathway not bothering to close the door. Halfway to the car I turn around and slowly jog backwards. Aaron was sprinting towards me as Jason was closing the door. I take out my phone to check the time. 7:25. we had to be there 10 minutes ago! I turn around to go back to running to the car. Murphy our German Shepard ran along with me as I ran past the fountain in the front yard. When I finally reached the car I forced the door open as fast as I possibly could, jumped in the drivers seat, jammed the keys in the ignition and started the car. I nervously look out the passenger window to see Aaron and Jason dodging Murphy. Seconds later the doors flew open and I gave them a split second to get in. I hope we make it in time...
