cameron followed along the train tracks until she decided to travel through the forest instead. it seemed much safer than out in the open by railroad tracks, so she disappeared into the forest.
it was silent. before the apocalypse cameron never liked silence, she never liked a lot of things. but she's grateful for how quiet it was. she also wished she could have cherished the stuff she had before more carefully and lovingly.
she walked for what felt like hours upon hours. her legs were starting to ache, and the sun began to set. she didn't have anywhere to stay for the night. so she kept walking. walking and walking until she came across a large boulder. it had blood smeared on it, as well as more undead which were fully dead now, were on the ground.
the girl noticed the footprints in the ground, there was such a large amount of pairs that were embedded into the dirt indicating a whole group was here previously.
she followed the tracks because maybe they were good people. they could be bad, but not everybody is bad, right?
she followed them for a few hours, and she actually thought they'd lead to nowhere until a large sized church was spotted in the distance.
it seemed occupied. a fire truck was parked outside, and the doors were shut as well as the windows. she even noticed the tracks led up to the porch, but jumped in fright when a crossbow was aimed right to her head.
"who the hell are you?"
