-Mister Investigator-
"It's nice of you to agree on this exchange Mr. Gray," Thomas Stilton said shaking the man's hand. He is one of the investigator that called upon for he needs help.
"The pleasure is all mine, sir, but you may just call me Gray." His hand on top of each other and placed it behind his back then started walking around. "So what is this case about? It must be very difficult, for you to call for me of all people."
"We have heard a lot about you, how you solved a lot of unsolvable cases in Barrow Creek the moment you joined the force. That is why we wanted you to help us in this case." Thomas went towards his desk and took out a brown envelope and his tablet that was blinking. "Right on time. Here are the case files Gray, all you need to know is right in here."
A loud, shrill sound was heard. The two men looked around trying to pinpoint its location. Gray felt something vibrating from the breast pocket of his brown, trench coat he bought from some shop in Aveyard some years ago. Fishing out the phone, he looked at the caller.
"Gray speaking," he said in a professional tone he often use in his business transactions.
"Hey, Gray. How's the new place? Did you get to know the case already?" A man with a deep voice answered over a noise filled background.
"The place is quite alright, I already have the folder with the case," he answered as he stuff his other hand on one of his pocket. He stared at the folder and sighed. 'Back to work.' he thought.
"Good, good. Well I know you can do this, good luck." Then he hanged up. Placing his phone back in his breast pocket he looked back at Thomas with apologetic look.
"Sorry about that sir, boss checking up on me."
"Not at all Gray, you may start working on your case tomorrow. Good day." Gray nodded and left his office. He then looked at the envelope in his hand again with as her furrows his eyebrows.
"I'll just read it the moment I get to my apartment," he told himself and went outside the FBI building and opened his black 1975 Dodge Charger.
Before going towards his apartment he went to the supermarket and bought groceries that will last for a month, all for himself. After doing the groceries Gray immediately went to his apartment changed into more comfortable clothes and started cooking supper. After everything he then looks back to the brown envelope that was lying on his coffee table. He sat down on his sofa and opened the folder then started taking out the contents.
A photo of a girl flew out, he took it in his hand and examined it. The girl had long wavy brown hair with bangs that cover her whole forehead, deep blue eyes that have a certain gleam in them that he couldn't pinpoint and pinkish lips that are in a wide grin.
"This girl must be one of the witnesses, she looks too innocent to be the suspect," he says and placed the photo down. He finds the girl surprisingly pretty and made him wonder why she is involved with this case.
As he goes through everything he founds the file that has the complete information about the suspect. The moment he opened the file, multiple photographs fell out and scattered on the floor. Slowly he picks it up and stares at it in shock, trying his best not to be sick with what he has seen. The photo was of a bloody man, probably in his late 30s, with his eyes gouged out and lips sliced off, lastly on his forearm is a bloody carving of a star. In all those photographs were people who had the same faith as this man, their eyes gouged out, lips sliced off and a star carving on their forearms.
"What the Fuck?!" He then starts reading the folder with all the information. He couldn't stop being terrified about it even though he's been through a lot of cases and may be as the same level as this or more but this is more unique and more hard to determine.
Tori Thompson, 23 years old, lives in New Orchard, is a girl who lost everything after her parents were killed right in front of her. Started living in the mental hospital at the age of 12 due to multiple disorders and phobias. She started killing people 5 years later the moment she left the institution. She has committed 15 murders for the past few years, escaping prison twice. After her latest crime, a pattern was found, she mostly gouged the eyes of her victims as well as slice their lips of and to finish everything she leaves a star carving onto their left forearms. No one knows where she is residing but the FBI is still on search for this mass murderer before she can continue her grotesque way of killing her victims. No other evidences found except for the knives she used for her killing, she never uses the same knife twice. Last known location is in an abandoned building near Petunia Street.
Gray immediately took the photo of the girl and stared at it with wide eyes, he couldn't believe that this girl on the photo could have the guts to kill other people. Overwhelmed by all this information, he stood up with the photo in hand and proceeds in the kitchen to grab himself a drink. Pouring himself coffee he looks at the photo of the girl again. In all his life in the force at Barrow Creek he never had a case that was this weird and absurd, had very few leads, not much information on why she does this but he couldn't help but want to know more about this girl.
A buzzer snapped him back to reality and saw a missed call from his old partner back in Barrow Creek, he immediately placed down his coffee and proceeds to call his partner back.
"Gray, oh, Gray, you finally called me. I thought you would forget about me immediately after you would go and transfer there to Forkshire my friend. How dare you!" A light voice with a snarky tone said. He smiled in content as he hears his friend through the phone. They've been partners for five years. They have created a strong bond that no one could break.
"Great to hear from you too Calcifer, and no I haven't forgotten you. I was just deep in thought with this new case I got. It got me, how can you say this, interested." He then looks at the photo of Tori.
"Woah, what a surprise! The great investigator Gray Folklore thinks a case is interesting?! Wow I have now heard everything." Calcifer laughs and Gray rolls his eyes.
"Very funny Calcifer, it's just that this case gave off a very interesting vibe. Also this is the first time that I have to deal with a girl about the same age as me."
"Wait a girl?!" from the sound of his voice he truly was shocked to hear this news, Gray chuckled at the sound his friend made.
"Yes Cal, a crazy psychotic girl."
"Woah this is way too much for me to handle, are you sure about this G?"
"Of course it is my job as an investigator to finish this and make sure that justice is served to those people who got killed." Gray started going to his bedroom, photograph still in hand.
"I guess, but G whenever you need help I will be here for you as you friend and a person you can count on okay?"
"Yeah I will keep that in mind Cal, I'll talk to you soon good night."
"Sure G, good night take good care of yourself! See yah, wouldn't wanna be ya!"
Then the phone call was cut, Gray let out a sigh and lay down on his bed. He then proceeds to look at the photo of Tori and remembered all the photos of the murders she has committed. Gray wouldn't admit it, but he was a bit anxious with what the future holds with this case, he has finished a lot of cases in his 7 years of being in the force but he has never been this anxious with what this girl has up in her sleeves.
"Tori Thompson what in the world happened, for you to kill all those people without any hesitations. I will do everything in my power to find this goddamned lowlife and put an end to this madness!"
