The sound of crackling woke me up instantly. I looked around my slightly dark room. The light from the hallway peaked out from under the door.

"Mom!" I screamed as loud as I could. My mother came rushing in and kneeled to the side of my bed.

"What's wrong, honey?" She asked.

"There was a crackling sound and I guessed it freaked me out a little. I'm sorry if I startled you." I said.

"Um okay. Lay back down then. School starts in four hours." She said. I didn't pay any attention why she was up at this time.

"Okay." I said. I laid back down and Mom left my room, this time not shutting my door. The crackling started again and I couldn't go back to sleep.

Crack . . .

Stop . . .

Crack . . .

Stop . . .

Crack . . .

It was as if it was mimicking me. I couldn't resist, and slowly and cautiously walked over to the corner where it was coming from. I moved all my clothes and there laid a little egg that is red and black. The red looked like fire but it is crackling like tinfoil when it's being crumpled up.

I fell backwards from shock and stared at the egg. I thought for a second and after three minutes of thinking; an idea binged in my head. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a towel. Hoping this doesn't catch on fire.

I walked back into my room and picked it up. Surprisingly, it wasn't even hot. Like, what? I set the egg on my bed and got small blankets from my closet and made a nest out of them.

I laid back in my bed and fell asleep.
Then there is a new sound. It wasn't an egg this time.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

Groaning, I picked up my phone and declined it. It might seem rude, but it's early and a tired Constance isn't good.

I placed my phone back down and fully went to sleep.

This time I woke up to an expected intrusion. My alarm clock. Which I don't mind because it plays music when it wakes you up. I stopped it and got up.

I walked into the bathroom in the hallway. I started the shower and got undressed. I washed everything and got out and wrapped a towel around my torso and thighs.

I brushed my hair and teeth. I spit out the toothpaste and cleaned off my mouth with a hand towel. I took off the towel and got dressed. I put on my bra and underwear. For my outfit it's just a plain white sweater and some skinny jeans with a rip on each knee.

I brushed my hair again and walked out of the bathroom. My dog jumped on to me and he wax very hyper. He got off and ran around.

"What is it Pixel?" I asked. He barked and jumped up and down. He barked and ran to my room. I followed him into my room. There was a girl all in white. She tried to touch the egg but she got burned and jumped back.

"What are you doing?" I spat out harshly. She turned to me and looked at me confused. She opened her mouth to say something but then shut it.

"What is your intentions here?" I asked again.

"My name is Lila, I'm an angel as you can see." She said caressing her wings.

"Why are you here, though?" I asked.

"This is a demon egg," She said pointing to the egg that I have grown a little love for, "The owner of this egg will come after you. Do you understand that?" She said.

"To be honest I don't care. Leave before-" I started but got cut off.

"You can't do anything to me." She said. I walked inside my room a little more and stood two feet away from the wall and crossed my arms.

"But I can." A voice said behind me. The source's arm wrapped around me and I freaked out. I started kicking and scratching. I tilted my head back and there is a guy in a tuxedo suit with a bloody rose in his shirt pocket. He let go and I ran to the egg. I picked it up and cradled it like it was my baby.

"How can she?" Lila asked.

"I don't know." He said.

"What?" I asked completely confused.

"That dragon egg can burn humans and angels with one touch." She said pointing at my precious egg.

"So?" I said in more of an asking tone. I stared at the egg.

Next thing I know is I hear a scream, I looked up and Lila is burning to the ground. In one minute tops she poofed and there was a little smoke but it disintegrated in the air. I looked at the guy and he looked at me.

"Nickolai." He said.

"Constance." I said. I placed the egg on my bed and walked over to him. I placed out my hand and he shook it hesitantly. After he let go he disappeared. What? How? Bull!

"I'll be taking this." He said casually. I turned around and he had my baby. Mine!

"No!" I yelled. I lunged at him and he disappeared again. That's cheating. Next thing I know I'm almost falling but before I got the ground big arms catch me.

"Where's the egg?" I yelled.

"Over there, why?" He asked. I kicked him and he let go. I crawled over to where he placed the egg. I picked it up and glared at the 'all mighty Nickolai'. He looked at me strangely and I stuck out my tongue at him.

"You're so immature." He said.

"I bet you're like a year older. That's not a big age difference. So ha!" I said. He scoffed and leaned against the wall.

"I'm actually fifty years old." He said. My eyes went big and he smirked in amusement.

"You're really old. But how do you look so young?" I said.

"Magic. And thank you for calling me young." He said.

I laughed hysterically. "You think you're young. I said you look it." I said between laughs.

"Whatever." He said.

"Aw. Are you butthurt now?" I asked.

"Shouldn't you be at school?" He asked.

"Yeah!" I yelled and ran to my book bag and got it on and placed my egg in a chest thing you need a key to open it.

I placed the key in my pocket and ran out the house. I ran to my bus stop and the bus is just arriving. I sighed in relief and hopped on the bus. I sat in a random seat and slouched down.

"It's really easy to change out of clothes. You like? Eh?" Someone said. I jumped and looked at the source. It is Nickolai.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked. More myself than him.

"I'm not really a kid." He said.

"Do you even go to my school?" I asked.

"I do now, but it might take some mind controlling and stuff like that.

"Sure." I said in a sarcastic tone.

"What is your favorite animal?" He asked casually and out of the nowhere.

"A rabbit, why?" I asked.

"Kounéli." He said and a rabbit appeared in my hands.

"Why? Are you messed up in the head? This is bad. I may love and obsess over them but that doesn't mean I keep them in captivity. That's wrong on so many levels." I said. He frowned at me and shook his head. When the bus stopped, I ran out and let the rabbit go and ran back on.

"That was quick." He said. I elbowed him and just stared off into space.
