Jace's POV.

I wish I didn't have to do this. But Clary deserves a better life. One were she's safe. One where she won't get hurt. I've been practicing a forbidden rune. A rune that erases your memory.

"Jace, you don't have to do this. " Alec says to me.

"Yes I do. She ha to stay safe. And she isn't when she's with us. " I reply.

"Bye, Clary. " Izzy and Alec have tears in their eyes.

"Sorry, Clary. Come see us sometime. " I say. I write a note to her telling where to find us, and if she wants, to recover her memory at Mangus'.

I draw the rune on her arm slowly. And sshe's still asleep when I'm done. We take her to her house and tell her mum about what happened. Then we left.

3 months later.

Clary's POV.

As I look in my bag, I find the address again. Studying it to make sure I'm at the right place. I knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I hear a voice ask.

"Clary Fray! I'm here to see Mangus Bane!" I shout back.

I hear a tumble of footsteps when a farmilliar figure shows up in the doorframe.

"Welcome, Clary. Are you ready to remember your past?" it asks.

"Yes. " I reply.

"Well then, I'm Mangus bane. And yyou'll remember me soon. " He says as I walk into the apartment.

And I remember everything.
