"Nessa. Baby wake up." My mother said at the side of my bed attempting to wake me up. It was the big day. My big day, My father's big day, the day me and my father were to host the APMA. The day I would have fame for being the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet. I have no idea why Joe Scarpelli chose me and my dad. We aren't even familiar with the bands, especially my dad. At first he thought APMAs stood for "Americas Popular Music Artist" and that's pretty much why he agreed to do the show, then my mom decided to do a little research. And we found out it actually was an award show for punk and rock bands. We don't even listen to rock. Hello it's 2017 does anyone? It's mostly hip hop and pop music with lyrics about nothing and a upbeat tempo so people don't even listen to the lyrics. Like my band. Pledge it's a mixture of both. We haven't made it big yet but eventual we will, my dad said he would help but I want to achieve this on my own. And not be the girl who gets everything she wants because of who her parents are.
"Nessa" my mom said shaking me a little. I still pretend that I'm sleep. So she would just go away and let me sleep away the day me and my dad embarrass ourselves in front of a bunch of emos.
"Nessa your leaving me no choice here. Do not make me play rolly" she says. Rolling was a game we would play. You know before they were famous and when they were around. I would have to get ready for school which I hated. The mornings that is. And she would pretend to push my onto the floor. To simulate a fall. But always catch me before I hit the ground. I got up before she could attempt to push me, for some reason even though I knew she wouldn't let me fall it still felt like falling. I acted as if it was the first time I heard her and rubbed my eyes yawning.She rolled her eyes knowing I was awake the whole time. "Your such a fake" she said smiling and leaving me in my room to get ready to crucify myself.
