Chapter 2 - The Mermaid I met at Oceanbrook Cove

She had long, Chocolate brown hair and warm brown eyes. She had Full pink lips, rosy cheeks, and long lashes to complete the look. She looked beautiful but had a cautious look on her face as I slowly walked in. I ask her what her name is and she says "My name Is Melissa, sorry is this place your property? I'm so sorry I didn't know this belonged to anybody I would leave but I can't with you watching." And me not thinking and just generally being me, said "Oh no no no. It's ok. I don't own this place and you can say. Why don't you come sit by me so we can talk?" She looked down and shook her head. She said "I'm sorry but I cannot." I asked her why not and she said it was a secret. I ask her if she wants to play twenty questions to get to know each other and she says she doesn't know what that is. "You. Don't. Know. What Twenty. Questions. Is?" My eye twitched the way it did when I was mad, or didn't believe something. She said no, and I explained twenty questions to her. She said yes and I told her it was my turn. I asked her "Who are your parents?" She looked anywhere but at me and said "My mother's name is Eleanor and my father's name is Henrey. They don't notice me with my brothers and sisters making messes all the time. What about your parents?" I looked at the ground and said "My father's name is William and my mother's name was Rose" I looked up expecting pity but it never came, all she said was "When you say her name was you mean she passed on?" I said yea and she just said "oh" I asked her how many siblings she had and she said "Three brothers and three sisters. Micheal, Charles, and Samuel. Then there's Aubrey, Chleo, and Merlea. In oldest to youngest it's Charles, Aubrey, Micheal, Chleo, Samuel, Merlea, then me." I thought about that and she said "What about you? How many siblings do you have?" I said "It's just me and Josh. In oldest to youngest it's Josh, then me." She looked at me and said "Wow, you have a small family." I smile at her and she smiles back. She puts her arms on the rock and her head on her arms. I notice her bare arms and ask "Are you even wearing a shirt?" She looked down and blushed. She shook her head. I ask her "Are you wearing anything?" She blushed more and shook her head.I told her I would go get her some clothes. "Just stay here." I told her. I ran out of the cove and to my house. I walk through the front door and go to my room. I get one of my t shirts and shorts. I walk out of my room and get stopped by my dad. "Going somewhere with an outfit?" I looked at the door then back at my dad. I start thinking of excuses. I settle on "Oh, um, Max, we were at the beach like where I said I was going to be, and he, fell in, yea he fell in and he, isn't allowed back inside till hes dry. Come on dad just trying to help a friend." The whole thing was a lie obviously, except that last part. I really was helping a friend. He sighed and said "Oh alright, just, you better get those back." I breath a sigh of relief and ran back to Melissa. When I get there I hand her the clothes to get changed and turn around. When she says ok I turn around. The shirt is big but other than that she's fine. She says "Ok my turn, does anyone else know about this place?" I totally forgot about that. I was just thinking about the cute girl that was wearing my clothes. "Huh? Oh yea, um, yea, Max does. Why?" She just nods her head and asks if she can meet him. I look at the black watch on my wrist, it says 9:30 P.M. "Why do you want to meet Max?" She says "Because I need to know everybody that knows this place." I looked at my watch again. I say "I'm not sure, he might already sleeping. I can check if you want." She said "Yes please check, it's really important." I sighed, I didn't want her to meet Max. He has taken every girl from me. I walk out, again. I run to Max's house and go to his window. I start throwing little pebbles at his window. I patiently wait for five minutes. I sigh and look into his window, of course. He wasn't there. I make a note and tape it one his window. It says

I slowly walk back. About halfway there I hear footsteps running towards me and I turn and smile. Here comes Max, the green eyed boy with brown hair that's always messy. He is tall and real fit.
