author's note
by the way I forgot to mention this earlier, sorry hahah, this story takes place at the beginning of the school year, where you are first years at the high school you attend; also I know this is written in English but the characters are still learning English in school and that is why the teacher is specifically saying the posters have to be in English.

(y/n)'s POV
My heart was beating incredibly fast, I was so flustered, embarrassed, and nervous. Only going to look at Taehyung? That question repeated in my mind over and over again. I couldn't understand why I couldn't look at any of them, except for Taehyung. I was nervous around all of them but why could I only look at Taehyung? All of them are handsome, I bet any girl would love to talk to one of them. So why when I had the opportunity I couldn't even look at them? Sure they were intimidating and at first scary, but all I did was bow and say sorry over and over again. I'm such a mess. I was only really kind of decent yesterday but I was only really talking to Taehyung. I couldn't believe it but, I became even more confused than I was before. I wish the school uniform required name tags too, just so I could know who those boys were. Well the one that pinned me against the lockers sits next to Taehyung, but I don't remember his name either. It was so unfair, they all knew my name and I didn't know anything about any of them. I only knew V, maybe that's why that boy asked if I was only going to look at Taehyung. I finally snapped out of my daze when the teacher began yelling at the class.

"Attention class!" The teacher clapped, waiting for everyone's attention; "I decided for the rest of this week, I'll let you guys relax and simply have to do one project. I'm going to assign you all partners and you have to create a poster, in English, all about your partner. I'm going to pass out the rubric after I assign your partners."

I plopped my head on my desk, unhappy and nervous as to who my partner would be. There was a very small chance I'd be Taehyung's partner or his friend's partner, but the fact that there was a chance made me really nervous.

"Um, how are the partners going to be decided?" One of the random students in the class asked making me look at the teacher nervously.
"You'll see in a second!" The teacher smiled before saying, "I want you to line up alphabetically by the initial written on your wrist."

I sighed along with the rest of the class as we organized ourselves in the front of the room. Since I had a T on my wrist, I was really close to the end of the line. Taehyung and his friend were in other random parts of the line but I couldn't really tell where as they weren't very close to me.

"Okay! Now hold out your wrists so I can check you guys are lined up properly." The teacher walked by all of us, looking at each initial. He also held the attendance list and wrote on it as he passed each student. "Good job! So I'm going to pair you guys up really quick so please return to your seats."

As we all walked back to our desks the teacher was writing all over the attendance list, making many of the students curious. Why did he want to know the first initials of our soulmates? I laughed a bit, maybe he was just trying to kill time as he tried to partner us up. I heard students whispering all over the classroom, debating on how the teacher was going to partner us up.

"Alright!" The teacher smiled from the front of the room, cutting all the tension in the room. "I've partnered you up with people that corresponded with the initial on your wrists. Well, it didn't work for all of you but I tried." The teacher laughed a bit, "I was actually surprised there are a few people in this class who have each other's first initials. But of course this doesn't mean you guys are soulmates or anything, it could just be a coincidence!"

Oh no. I mentally groaned, I had to be partners with Taehyung. I had his first initial on my wrist and he had mine on his. There was no way we wouldn't be partnered together, we had each other's first initials engraved on our wrists. I really wished I didn't go to school today, then the teacher wouldn't have known the first initial on my wrist and I could have gotten some random student as my partner. I anxiously waited as the teacher was reading off the partners, dreading the moment he was going to read my name. Then it happened.

"Another perfect match!" The teacher laughed, there were two or three other partners who had each other's first initials on their wrists, "(l/n) (y/n) and Kim Taehyung also have each other's first initials on their wrists." The teacher looked at the two of us, smiling, "You know what that means, you guys are partners!"
