"You little," my dad screamed.

"Calm down," my old brother, Bruno yelled.

Too bad he won't be able to save my butt all the time when he is going to college soon.

I admit it is hard living with my dad. Especially with all his "No" this and "No" that and his anger issues and drinking problems aren't any help at all. He goes to an anger management classes every weekend but it never seems to work. He always gets mad at me for the tiniest things and sometimes abuses me.

"Bruno," I whisper.

"I got this," he replied. "You go get ready for school and I'll drive you." Oh and did I mention my dad can't drive? So I walk to school unless Bruno is visiting from his house, 10000 miles away.

I went up to my room and got dressed quickly and shoved my books in my bag. I ran into the kitchen, grabbed an orange and headed for the door.

"Ready?" Bruno asked.

"Yeah," I said. "But I am going walk to school again today."

"But sis, I'm leaving tomorrow morning."

"You'll see me this afternoon and you can drop me off early tomorrow and still be there by ten."

"Okay, then," he sighed. "Bye."

"See ya."

I ran out and closed the door behind me. I started to peel my orange open. I sighed.

I wonder how Bruno is doing, I thought.

Halfway to the school...

"Huh?" I said.

A feather came gently falling down from the sky. It was raven black with a snowy white tip. I never seen anything like it. I pulled out my book of birds. No bird had such a unique feather and I know my birds. I looked up only to see light gray and white clouds. Nothing unusual. I checked the time. Oh God. I'm going to be late. I shoved the feather in my book of birds and shoved the book in my bag. I ran as fast as I could to school.

I got to school right when the bell rang. Thank God.

Morning Announcements were just starting.

"Where have you been?" my best guy friend, Charlie, I call him Charles, mouthed to me during announcements.

"I will tell you later," I replied.

We got up at the same time and went to meet my best girl friend Krystal down the hall with her boyfriend, Harris.

"What happened?" asked Charles.

"I don't really know myself," I started to say. "I was walking down the streets to school and found this." I pulled out the feather that fell from the sky earlier.

"What's going on?" Krystal asked suspiciously.

"I was late today because I found this," I replied.

"What is it?" she asked examining the feather.

"Uh, duh. A feather," Charles replied sarcastically.

"I know that," Krystal said. "I mean where'd it came from?"

"I don't know."

"Aubina?"

"Yes?" I replied.

"You know, don't you?" asked Krystal.

"Sadly, I don't," I said. "Maybe I can ask my dad."

"No, no, no," Krystal said, her eyes growing wide.
