There was a body on the ground. To everyone that saw it, it was a human girl. Naked. Chest heaving, even as she slept. She slept in the middle of a field. Nobody knew this, but she had fallen there. The space around her had twisted and tightened, pulling itself together more and more until it couldn't. It coalesced, and snapped. It snapped and the figure fell out. She had drifted for a few seconds, but gravity was stronger than her. For now.
Nobody knew where she came from. She didn't know where she came from. She wasn't supposed to exist; and yet, she would live on. For how long? Until she died. And still, she would live. All because the sky cracked open over the Earth.
To any normal passerby, she looked only a few weeks old. She was all skin and bone, and was tiny. Oh so very small. She lay in soft clovers.
Nobody was to know that the car, driving by, would see that discoloration in all the green. Nobody was to know that the car would drive off again, with one extra passenger. Nobody was to know what happened to her after that. Not for a few years...
