Bradley ripped the bloodied sheets off his bed and threw them into his bathroom. He started the cold water in the sink and threw the sheets in. He stopped the water and opened the cabinet below him, taking out the laundry soap and pouring some onto the sheets. He poured a small amount on a dish towel and set it aside, putting the soap away. He began to massage the sheets in the cold, soapy water. He grabbed the dish towel and walked over to the wall where he was cowering earlier in the day. The ferret washed the blood off and moved over to the carpet. He spent a few minutes scrubbing the floor until the stain was nearly invisible. It kinda blended in with the other bloodstains scattered around the carpet from previous beatings. Sighing, Bradley painfully stood up and walked back into the bathroom. He set the bloodied rag on the side of the sink and went back to massaging the blood out of the sheets. He sighed as he realized that he would have so much more to do that he first thought. It was going to be a very long night...

The exhausted ferret sighed as he lied down on his mattress. He looked over to his digital clock and saw that it was 5:30 AM. "Shit..." the ferret mumbled. His mother would be home soon and he hasn't gotten a single bit of decent sleep. A tear gently fell from his eye as he wished for Sean's warm arms. Call me whenever you need something ok? His boyfriend's words slowly made the burning sensation for an old habit cool slightly. Another tear fell from his eye as he grabbed his phone from the bedside table. He typed in the number that he remembered all too well and hoped that he would pick up. "Hey are you ok?" A calming voice asked, fake gunfire sounded from the background. Tears began to cascade down the ferret's face as he whispered into the phone "I can't do it... I can't take it here anymore...". The gunfire paused as Sean came back "Hey, you're gonna be alright. Listen, I know this could be risky, but I've seen this go on for way too long. I'm bringing you back here. They don't know where I live, and I could care less. Get your sister, I'm coming as fast as I can, ok"? Bradley stopped for a second. This could be way too dangerous. If they got caught, his parents would give him his final beating, and they could take it out on Sean. Not only that, but Sean worked at an arcade, there's no way that he could take care of him and his sister, along with himself. "Bradley? Please answer..." the worried raccoon whispered. "Yes" Bradley blurted. "Ok. I'll be over soon. I Love you." Sean sighed before hanging up. Sitting up on his bed, Bradley looked at his tear streaked phone. He stood up slowly as he pushed his phone into the back pocket of his jeans and walked over to his closet. He opened the door and grabbed a backpack full of old clothes and a few scraps of food and a water bottle. His runaway bag that he had prepared for years. The ferret checked the side pocket and saw the money he had been saving up with, roughly about $100. Throwing the straps over his shoulders, he opened the door quietly and peeked out. He could hear the chatter of the tv in the living room. His mother had probably come back from her job and had opened a bottle of beer. Stepping quietly into the hallway, he opened his sister's door as gently as possible. Half closing the door behind him, he crept to the side of her bed and shook her gently. Her eyes shot open and she flinched away from her brother's hand. "Kati, it's me. Come on, we're getting out of here." He whispered. She sat up and nodded, grabbing her doll before getting out of bed. She was in her favorite pink night gown with purple lace. She grabbed her brother's hand and held in like if she were to let go, she would die. Bradley led her back into his room, making sure to close both doors, and went over to the window with nails embedded into the frame. Bradley easily pulled the main few nails out easily as he had done this many times before, and pushed the window open. He picked up Kati and set her onto the roof before leaping up into the window. He balanced himself on the roof before closing the window and sliding down one side to an old trellis his mom used to grow roses on. His sister followed and grabbed onto the trellis. They slowly descended from the roof, leaping from the trellis the last foot down. Bradley grabbed his sister's hand and led her down the street and onto the porch of a house that had a for sale sign in the front yard. "Is someone picking us up?" Kati asked, finally able to speak normally without having to whisper. "Yeah. I think you'll like him." He said as he recalled one time that they went to the local park and some child lost their parents. Sean had made the kid stop crying and start laughing. His parents soon found them. A small beige car pulled up on the side of the road and flashed their lights four times. Their own personal code for "I'm here". Bradley led his sister down to the car and opened the back seat door. His sister got in as he jumped into the front passenger seat. "Hey guys. You wanna get something to eat?" Sean asked in his kid voice. Bradley smiled at his boyfriend as he exchanged a playful smirk. "That's too much. We couldn't't ask you for anything else after tonight." Bradley joked. "It's on me." Sean said smiling. After a bit of thought, the older ferret said casually "Pizza sounds nice". Sean smiled and nodded before driving down the street and onto the main roads. Maybe this won't be so dangerous...
