Unexpected

Chapter 1...

It was 9:30 when Victoria's alarm went off, waking her up out of her well deserved slumber. In the background she could hear the TV playing Sesame Street on a low volume. She could also hear the giggles that always put a smile on her face no matter what happened. Slowly she crawled out of her bed and trudged to her bathroom. After freshening up, she walked towards her burrow and turned on her TV. Victoria stood there just watching the news waiting for the weather. Even though she had a feeling it would be super hot she just wanted to be sure. Getting the information needed, she approached her closet and picked out an outfit for the day. Then feeling confident in her outfit she grabbed her bracelet that she wore for him. It was a daily reminder of why she moved, it was her motivation to keep going.

Getting downstairs she was greeted with the sight of her baby sister playing around with her almost 2 year old son. He was the love of her life and no one would ever change that.

"Hi mommy!" said C.J. He looked up towards his mother and began to make grabby hands at her. Victoria picked him up and walked with him towards the kitchen.

"Hi bubba, did Titi Carmen already feed you?"

"Yes Titi Carmen did actually, we had mini waffles with lots and lots of syrup didn't we?" A voice behind Victoria said. Victoria knew it was her sister so she didn't bother to turn around.

"Great, way to get him hyped up on sugar. You know how mom gets." Victoria began eating a fruit salad bowl she had found in the fridge. After taking a bite she looked up at her sister.

"Are you coming with me to the mall today? Or am I going by myself like usual?" She said while rolling her eyes.

"One, don't roll your eyes at me because I will make you go by yourself. Two, yes I am going with you. It's only because it's for my handsome little nephew." While saying this, Carmen grabbed C.J's cheeks and gave them a little shake. He just giggled and looked at her with adoration in his eyes.

Victoria put her bowl in the sink and moved towards her phone, sending a text to her mother letting her know that they were ready to leave. In a few seconds, the doorbell rang and behind it was her mother.

"Ma! I missed you!" Victoria pulled her mother in for a giant hug which lasted for a long time. Finally pulling away she walked her mom towards the kitchen where C.J was dancing to ABC by Jackson 5.

"Oh look at how my grandson has grown." squealed Stephanie. She began to clap her hands to the beat, encouraging him to continue dancing.

"Ma, you saw him two days ago."

"Yeah well, he's a fast grower. I swear he gets bigger every time I see him." With that Victoria kneeled down by her bundle of joy and caressed his hair.

"Bubba, Mommy has to go now. Be good for Nana."

"Bye mommy! I wuv you!" Victoria gave him and big kiss on the lips and said I love you back. Victoria and Carmen said their goodbyes to their mother and was out the door after.
