The Taste of Near Death

Sleepover

Azalea broke away from the hug and smiled at Tessa.
"Sorry, I better pick this up." She walked over to her phone which was lead on her bed. It was Zyler calling.
"Hello" Azalea said as she picked up he phone.
"Hi," Zyler replied, "I have bad news." Azaleas face fell.
"I couldn't find Mitzi anywhere so I have called the police and told her parents."
"That's not good," said Azalea, "Thank you for telling her parents and everything"
"No problem. Is Tessa happier yet?" Azalea looked round at Tessa who was staring at her in worry.
"Yeah she is fine now."
"That's good. I'd better go now, so see you later."
"Yeah, I'll see you later." Azalea ended the call and placed her phone back on her bed. Tessa stared at Azalea, still with a worried look in her eyes.
"What happened?" asked Tessa "Is everything ok?"
"Don't worry about it. It was only Zyler checking up on you." replied Azalea
"It wasn't just that though, was it?" Tessa said slightly whining, "What happened to Mitzi?" Azalea looked at the floor, afraid to say anything.
"Tell me!" Tessa demanded.
"Fine." Azalea looked up from the floor. "Zyler couldn't find Mitzi so he has called the police." Tessa broke down into tears.
"This is the reason I didn't want to tell you. Oh Tessa" Azalea once again ran over the Tessa and embraced her. "It's all going to be okay."

Hours past and Tessa has finally stopped crying and Azaleas mum had come home. Azaleas mum drove Tessa back to her house and then took Azalea to the shops to buy food for tea.  While in the shops, Azalea told her mum about what happened to Mitzi.
"Well, I hope Mitzi is okay." said Zora, Azalea's mum as they entered the shops.

When Azalea got home, her mum began to cook tea. Later on, her brother and dad got home.
"How was the rugby game?" asked Azalea.
"Good thanks," replied Tiger "Our team won!" A huge smile spread across his face. Azalea smiled back.
"What have you been up to today?" Tiger asked as he walked into the kitchen with his sister following. Tiger had no idea about what happened today and Azalea wasn't planning to tell him.
"Nothing much, just went for a sandwich at The Sandwitch Bar."
"With Tessa and Mitzi I predict?" Azalea slowly turned her back and began to walk out the kitchen. Her face fell but she didn't want her brother to see.
"Yeah it was." Azalea said, trying to sound as happy as possible. Azalea walked up the stairs to her room; a tear fell down her face. As she did this she heard her mum shout,
"No Tiger, wait until tea!" Azalea let out a small laugh. She loved her little brother. He was the most joyful thing in the world. He always cheered her up.

A week passed and Azalea was getting bored of the Summer holidays. So far she had played sims, read and done not much else. Her mum suggested to invite Tessa round for a sleepover, so she did.

Tessa arrived just before Azaleas mum finished cooking tea. Tessa placed her stuff in Azaleas room and sat at the table with her. Azaleas mum soon brought out two small home made pizzas. One with tuna and sweetcorn and one just with cheese. The girls tucked into their food without a word. They hadn't said anything to one another yet. They were both thinking about Mitzi but didn't dare to bring up the subject. Azalea slowed down her eating and stared at Tessa. Tessa put down her piece of pizza she was just about to eat and asked,
"What's up?" Azalea knew Tessa guessed the answer all ready and just nodded. Tessa nodded back and got back to her pizza. Azalea didn't feel like eating anymore. She put down her pizza,which she had been holding for a good three minutes without eating it, and wiped her greasy hands on a piece of paper towel. After a few more minutes in silence, Tessa finished eating her last slice. They both stood up and took their plates into the kitchen.
"Thanks Mum." said Azalea.
"Thanks Zora." said Tessa after Azalea.
"No problem girls." Azaleas mum replied. They both walked up the stairs, in silence, to Azaleas room. They sat on Azaleas bed, both staring out the window. The silence was awkward so Azalea decided to brake it.
"Should we go outside?" Tessa turns to face Azalea.
Sure, I mean, we have nothing better to do." Tessa and Azalea ran down the stairs.
"MUUMMM!" Azalea shouted "WE ARE GOING OUT, WE WILL BE BACK SOON!"
"OKAY, SEE YOU LATER." Zora shouted back. The two girls opened the door and walked out. Azalea closed the door behind them and set off.
