While there are beasts that terrorize the villages, towns and cities, dragons are truly a greater challenge. The most common trait in them is their reptilian appearances, scales hides and their breath. While most of them are fire, others are more complex than that. Others use mist of crystal shards, toxins, lightning and light. It all depends upon their breed, of course.
While dragons are threats to civilization, most of them are considered gods among dragon worshippers. Many temples and civilizations were built just for worship of these mighty beings. While most of them are not found, it is spoken in murals and ancient text that some of these temples contain their deity deep inside...
Another aspect is that there are half human, half dragon races called Dragonkin. They have the base body of a human, but depending on their breed they have different appendages. It's primarily always a tail, but sometimes it's also scales, horns, even eyes. They can reinforce their bodies to more a dragon like appearance, but while also remaining humanoid.
