Enomoto waved at me and greeted me with a smile. "Ah. Fushimi-san. Today we have to do a little 'community' service around the headquarters."

"Oh. Okay, then. I'll see you out there." I replied. I clucked my tongue. Was life always this annoying? Yeah, it was, and it still is, and will always be.

I sighed and opened the yard doors just to get smacked by a chilling, autumn breeze. Hidaka was throwing leaves at Fuse, and Domyoji was jumping in a pile of them. "Ah! Sorry, Fushimi-san. We're getting it done!" Hidaka called out with leaves sticking out of his hair. Fuse got up and brushed the leaves off his coat.

"Yeah. Just trying to 'clean up'." he mocked. He grabbed Hidaka's rake and threw it, nearly missing Camo in the head.

"I see... Get it done. I'll find Munakata..." I strolled back inside. I didn't want to do this. Not that I was lazy, but it just brought back....

Memories.

It was fall in middle school. Sweaters were getting twigs attached with them, and classrooms were being cleaned out. I was standing out in the yard, sweeping the fallen leaves to one pile. Misaki was-as usual-talking about how excited he was for the new school year.

"I bet you, Saru, that I'll get a girlfriend!" Misaki yelled.

"How much?" I asked, leaning on the broom I was holding. Misaki frowned and picked up his broom.

He swung his broom and hit mine, so I fell into the rather large pile of leaves I created. "Misaki!? What the-"

"I didn't ask for how much. I just said that I bet I would get one." Misaki firmly said. He, then, bursted out in laughter. "SARU!"

Misaki jumped in the pile, sending more leaves out everywhere. We were creating a huge scene. Students were looking at us all weird, and some even laughed out.

"Yata! Fushimi! Detention! You aren't supposed to be playing! You're grown up now. OUT!" the teacher on duty shouted. She pointed towards the school. Misaki snickered.

"At least we're together. That's what's most important." he said, smiling.

I walked towards Munakata's office, where he was most likely drinking tea. And to my discouraged surprise, I was absolutely correct.

"Fushimi! How pleasant to see you on such a fine, autumn day~!" The Blue King took a sip of tea and resumed talking. "However, you should be helping the others cleaning the yard. Is something the matter?"

I nodded. "This seems out-of-the-ordinary, but it is a somewhat...personal question." I stumbled. Munakata raised his eyebrows in sudden surprise.

"And, what might that be? I should be able to help answer your question." Munakata said, folding his hands and placing them underneath his chin.

I shook my head. I came quick to my senses. That question was stupid. I wouldn't-no- I SHOULDn't even ask him. He knows everything in a strange way. It'd be useless, benefiting to me.

"Sorry. I shall attend to business immediately." I turned and opened the door. Before I left, Munakata stopped me.

"Fushimi. You can ask me anything. I guarantee you'll be satisfied with your results, no matter how foolish the question."

My heart pulsed deeply. Why did those words mean something? Unless it were orders from this man, everything else he said went in one ear and out the other.

"Arigato..." I whispered to myself-or at least it seemed.

Why was I going to ask Munakata, my commander, a question about Misaki? Am I stupid enough to do that? I shook my head. As I was heading outside, I ran into Awashima.

"Where are you going? You should be outside. I had Enomoto notify you." she said, coldly.

"I feel nauseous. I think it's this fall atmosphere. I'm heading to the infirmary." I said. Awashima merely nodded and rushed off to watch the others.

I opened the door to the infirmary, slid off my jacket, and hopped into the bed. I didn't want to think of Misaki and the question taunting me to ask Munakata. I closed my eyes.

The question repeated constantly. "Why am I telling myself I can't be friends with Misaki?"
