I quickly checked my phone for any messages only to realise that it was from the person I had never expected one from.
Mom.
It was mom who messaged me. I haven't received a message from her since she and dad shifted to New York because of their business. They have their headquarters there. They decided to make themselves busy in their work since last year.

Hey honey. How are you? I hope you have everything there. I know we haven't spoken well since last year. So I am coming to L.A. next week for 3 days so I'll meet you when I am done with my conference in L.A. It is a very short trip but I need to go back to New York because I have many meetings.

Well, now you realize that you have a daughter? Well at least she is coming for a while. I left the message as it is. It was 9 in the morning and I had to meet Matt today.
So I quickly went to take a shower and wore my outfit.

I gave Oscar his food. I went to the movie room to grab my phone to see that my friends were snuggled next to each other. I took a photo of both of them and then poured water on them only to be met with Sara's high pitched squeal screaming 'COLD! COLD!' while I was laughing.
"What the hell Karen!!!" Jenny screamed.
"Well I am sorry but you have to get your lazy ass out of this couch, take a shower and go home cause I need to be somewhere."
"Where?" Sara inquired.
" I am going to the park to meet with an old friend of mine who has come back from L.A. after 10 years."
"And is this someone a guy or a girl?" Sara asked wriggling her eyebrows suggestively.
"This someone is a guy and he is my childhood best-friend so I am going to the park with Oscar to beat his ass because he disappeared for 10 years of my life."
"Okay you may leave but message us once you reach and we want details of this mysterious date."Jenny said.
"Okay mom! And this isn't a date."I replied.
"Bye have fun!" they both said in sync.
I exited the movie room with my phone, a side bag and Oscar.

I reached the park at 10:15. I waited for Matt. As usual he was late. So I decided to check my messages. I had 2 messages one from Sara and one from him. I opened Sara's and messaged her that I had reached and then I opened his.

I got an instant response from him:
Oh I was just going to Target to get some things. Okay I gtg will talk to you later. Bye.

I felt weird as though I wanted to talk to him more but I didn't have to wait too long because Matt was here and he looked good. I know I am not suppose to check out my best-friend but he did look hot. He was wearing a tight fitting white V-neck shirt with blue washed out jeans and his dark hair was messy but it looked so soft that I had the urge to feel them.
"Uhm...are you done? Or do I need to change?" Matt asked with a smirk.
"Umm...well you look good....not good enough for you to find a girl for yourself around here." I replied.
"Well even though I don't find someone I will always have you."
I blushed when he said this.
" I missed you Matt-y."
"I missed you too cupcake." he said.
"Why did you leave?"
"Because I needed to get away from someone..."he said softly.
"Who?"
"H-"he was cut off by Oscar who was barking at the bushes. Its officially proved that Oscar has the worst timing ever.
"Hey you got a puppy?" Matt asked.
"Ya..."

"Okay" he left the topic over there. I didn't understand why he doesn't normally leave a topic until and unless he has proper reasoning. Well that was 10 years back he would have changed by now...maybe.
