She wears white. She has halo on her head. So bright it is blinding. She has a sweet smile like honey and it rots my teeth. I swear she looks at me in disgust because I wear red. But she walks with me still. And that's okay I guess.

ii.

I wear red. I do like the colour white. But I can't afford it. I remember wearing white years ago before I knew who I was. I have flames in my eyes. Sometimes it's the ocean after a thunderstorm. But who's looking into eyes nowadays?

iii.

The saint walks with me most of the time.So every time she commits a crime, she wipe the blood off on my red dress. Saints never been caught red-handed anyway. It's mine. It's my love affair.

iv.

I walk with the saint most of the time. So I can feel what it's like to feel pure. I follow her smiles and her eyes. I follow her footsteps and her gait. They say 'fake it till you make it'. Even though somehow I feel like I've made it, my dress keeps getting redder than ever.

v.

The saint says instead of complaining, why don't you just pray to be good like me? She tells me to stop being a bitch all the time. "Don't walk too close. You'll leave a stain on me". We walk in parallels but at a fair distant. So much for being holy.

vi.

I drift away anyway. I'm the devil after all. Sometimes I can't stand the bleach smell of her dress. Sometimes I can't erase the memory of her scrubbing the sin-stained dress at dawn. She thinks that I'm asleep at dawn.

vii.

I have read somewhere that all devils were once saints. Maybe I was one too. And I start to believe it now because after I am away from her, I can feel the red of my dress turns to pink. Maybe, just maybe it will turn to white again.

viii.

There's a knock on the door. It is her. The now-turned-red saint. Her halo is not there anymore. I wonder if she notices that. "Come back to me" she pleads. I let her in,trying to convince her that red is pretty too.
