Red. All that was seen was red surrounding his battered face. Splattered on his checkered clothing. Staining the rug. His body was still, lifeless. It was like seeing a mannequin lying flat on the floor. Silence swept my mind, all that was heard was the ringing of my ears and my heart pumping loud and vigorously. My vision blurred. The bookshelf remained on the carpet. The chair he once sat on, on its side and the newspaper scrunched up underneath his stomach. I walked cautiously to the door turning around to see the scene behind. Sliding down the mahogany wood, thinking desperately of the past. My cheeks filled with air as my lips shrivelled waiting for my shrimp brain to come up with an idea. It came and went. Nothing stayed in my empty head. Every dream every memory forgotten. Soon family, which he was. My grandfather, the only man who cared for me. A part of my heart was gone.
Help. All I needed was help. This village was quiet. No one barely lived here. I was helpless. This happened often but not as bad as this. I'd woken up standing above a young boy. My hand covered with dripping blood and his face deformed with his eyes closed peacefully. It was ten years ago, i was fourteen. The day I was expelled. It's uncontrollable. It's like I'm two people. One side is a normal man who has an ambition to scuba dive with the beautiful wildlife surrounding me but the other is on a rampage. If you get in my way, sooner or later you're in hospital. It makes me cry. Every night I'm scared. I'm scared of what I'm capable of. What I can do. How much trouble I bring myself into.
I brought myself back to the life in front of me. The nightmare. A glimmer of hope entered my head. I remembered. The death. The scream. The crash. I remembered the conversation. The fight. The terror. Just because I wasn't allowed to help him. He was protecting me but I got mad. I couldn't do things other people could. It stressed me, depressed me dearly.
