It was dark by the time I got home as I imagined it would be. And my mom was sitting on the porch waiting for me as I knew she would be. She ran off the porch and gave me a huge hug. "Is this your friend" she asked? No mom this is not Kile. "Im Tom." Well hi nice to meet you tom. Nice to meet you to... call me Miss G. Nice to meet you to Miss G. Why do you have you shirt off Tom? Well Miss G. These boys was beating up your son and I went to help him. That does not explain why you didn't have your shirt on. Well one of the boys punched him in the nose and he had a nose bleed so I gave him my shirt to clean it up with... no one should walk around with a nose bleed that's just gross you know what I mean. Well thank you Tom for taking care of sam for me I was worried that them boys would get ahold of him again. Sam go get ready for dinner i'll be in here in a min. Do you wanna join us Tom? No ma'am i'm just going to go home. it was no problem helping out your son. I Know what it's like to be bullied for being you. Really? Yeah I used to be bullied at my old school for being gay. Your gay? Yes Miss G. I'm gay. So is Sam. Cool... well Miss G. Imma get going I live on perfect rode a long walk from here. Ok be safe. I will.

I watched Tom smile, wave and turn away. I wondered what he and my mom was talking about. That night I could hardly sleep. All I could think of was the prince on the porch, Tom, my hero. His name echoed in my head, it made me smile. Finally I drifted off with the thoughts of him in my head.
